Big businesses are pushing for it along with the states.

Isn't it funny the "citizens united ruling is bad" party is supporting big business here?

It works the other way. If you live in Florida, and buy something from Georgia, you have to pay Florida. And the Georgia business has to collect for Florida. And Florida can audit the Georgia business.

Right, but voters aren't. And it wont help the economy, which the President keeps telling us is his number 1 priority. So why raise taxes?

If they actually cared about the consequences, they would simply have the sales tax apply in the State where the sale is made. Suddenly, my state would realize that poking us for 8.125% is killing jobs and our sales tax would vanish.

Absolutely not. We don't need more taxes and I hope this gets destroyed soon. I'm honestly shocked that people support this.

I could forsee a negative effect for more smaller, more generic storefronts and start ups, but the larger sites primary advantages lie in convenience and exclusitivity, two traits that will likely override potential losses (Amazon, for example is backing the proposition). The bipartisan support is derived from both the local revenue component and its support from the mom and pop variety local business community.

Commerce clause states: "To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian tribes"

Therefore constitutional and they do have the authority.

Its a tax to me seems constitutional...
Thats not the point... Congress is filled with attorneys who have been molded to "correctly legislate" according to the written standard. Whether or not it is intrusive and an abuse of power is a different matter.... and this is both. But I guess you as socialist loves to see an increasingly intrusive government being passed on to our children.

HA! Its funny how you admittedly want to curse other people with your own cursed ideals. At least you're not in denial.
