    No, I'm answering your questions

Transactions are considered to have taken place at the location where the exchange completes. In the case of online sales, that happens when the goods are delivered to the purchaser

Good grief. I know that. I suggested that the tax be collected where it is sold INSTEAD. That would motivate states to VOLUNTARILY lower their regressive sales taxes plus merchants wouldn't have to deal with 47 different states, no matter how automated.

so states are tax collectors for other states.

so my state now has to remit taxes to 49 other states, which cost me the tax payer "MORE "money to do that.............so it means my state government now has to be bigger so this can be done, and requires more people to run such an operation.

It should not be taxed at where it is sold UNLESS that is where the transaction is finalized. If the transaction hasn't been finalized, then there's been no sale yet.

This is an accounting rule that has been in effect long before the internet was a glimmer in Al Gore's eyes.

No, vendors have to collect sales tax on their sales. No state will be collecting another states sales tax.

i see, so the vendors meaning business, have to send the tax money they collect to 50 different states now.

why does that sound like its going to cost more money too...for them to do business.

Because you don't understand how the law or the internet works?

The payments are made electronically by the same program that calculates the sales tax.

Here's the thing a lot of people don't realize:

You are already obligated to pay sales taxes for online purchases.

But you don't, do you? Pretty much nobody does. If your state levies sales taxes on purchases, you are supposed to be declaring those purchases on your tax returns. But nobody does, really. This just transfers the responsibility to collect those taxes to the retailers, like every other store in freaking history.

Hate business? Why do you hate your state?

(disclaimer: sales tax laws vary by state, there may be an exception or two, but I suspect all states with sales taxes behave this way)
Don't hate States. But I think the States should learn to get along without nanny Federal Government calling the shots.

If a State's citizens don't follow the laws of their State, maybe that should be telling the State something about their laws, eh?

This bill the Senate passed is bad. Period. And it's a good thing there are saner heads in the House who will shut this crap down.

so let me see, if i have you correct...........the vendor...will accrue no added cost to his business.

we will create a tax, and it will have no monetary affects on sales, or too the vendor?...is that what your saying?

    Correct

Vendors are already required to collect sales tax on their sales. No new tax is being created

You have heard of the sales tax before today, haven't you?
