Oh, is it illegal to believe in spiritual/faith based healing? Do try again.

Yet we do it all the time. PP did over 300,000 abortions in 2011.

No, but it is illegal to deny your child adequate medical care in the belief that a supernatural being is going to do the job.

Show me the criminal statute that requires parents to turn over their children to hospitals for care.

Yeah, nobody really does that (except other Islamic terrorists), and it's also irrelevant to this thread. Way to stand up for partisan stupidity, though.

It's called negligent homicide, and generally stems from the language of the murder statute for any given jurisdiction. The California case that settled this issue (in California) is called People v Burden (72 Cal. App. 3d 603) (1977). Your jurisdiction almost certainly has a similar case. It's fairly ubiquitous. See also Walker v Superior Court (47 Cal. 3d 112 (1988)). Basically the same issue.

No, it's illegal not to provide medical treatment for your children. It's just f'ing stupid to believe in spiritual/faith based healing.

Depends on what state you reside, actually, much like prohibitions on abortion.
