The House Oversight Committee will resume hearings on the terrorist attack on the U.S. mission in Benghazi, Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) said Wednesday.“Next month, the Oversight Committee will convene a hearing on the Benghazi terrorist attacks to examine evidence that Obama Administration officials have attempted to suppress information about errors and reckless misjudgments,” Issa said. “The American people still don’t have the full truth about what happened both before and after the murders of four brave Americans.

Now, now , now. You know better than that. They only hate the government when a democrat is in the WH.:2razz:

Who are they?

As long as they're not holding hearings about new taxation, Americans should be pleased and let them have at it - after all, what's the sense of having oversight if every time you try to hold power to account you get bashed and if you don't hold power to account you get bashed?

Some of you on the left were whining the other day because someone opened a thread about Obama not going to Texas and you complained that the right complained because he hasn't gone but if he goes the right would complain about him wasting money.

Seems to me, all you're doing is displaying your own partisanship while you complain about everyone else's partisanship.

this is well past the point of being ridiculous.

What is the goal of these hearings? Is the purpose to find out where a break down in communication that lead to the loss of lives, or is it a witch hunt, to prove some government conspiracy?

If the purpose is to really understand our security failings, and improve the systems in place, I'm all for it. If the only goal is to expose some secret conspiracy to murder our diplomat, and let the terrorists get away with it, I would like to formally request that all members of that committee be punched in the face.

You want to talk about oversight, how about convening an oversight committee every day until we get straight answers from the White House on the drone program? Or about the inefficient ways in which we collect and analyze intelligence information? Or about what all that Homeland Security money that is being spent on and is it making us a safer nation?

Even if something shady did happen in Bengahazi, and I'm not confident that either version of events is accurate, what value is there in rehashing the same information over and over again? What new information is there to present? Did someone find a recording of the President ordering the assassination of our ambassador? Or is there a secret memo of Secretary Clinton instructing Susan Rice to lie on Meet the Press? Short of new evidence to support this conspiracy theory, the house is simply perpetuating rumors, and use taxpayer dollars to do it. Man, that's gotta be great for the economy!!! Way keep your eyes on the ball guys!!!

so you have no problem with not trying to uncovering if this administration lied and hide the truth and you have no desire to find out why? Of coarse you don't it was a democrat Administration. I'm sure your attitude would be different if they was Republicans

I really do not know where to come down on this. But my take on this so far is: Is the present administrating hiding something, probably. Is what they are hiding going to be really damaging, I don't think so. I would say just embarrassing and I have yet to know an administration who didn't try to hide an embarrassing fact or two from the public and I go back to IKE.

Unless something sensual breaks, I am just not interested.
