CISPA cybersecurity bill approved by the House of Representatives

On Thursday, the US House of Representatives passed the controversial Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protect Act with a 288-177 vote. CISPA now makes its way to the Senate and if the legislation does reach President Obama, many are expecting the commander-in-chief to veto the bill that is believed to violate the online privacy of millions of Americans. The bill would facilitate the sharing of digital information from private companies to the US government, and Sharon Bradford Franklin, senior counsel for The Constitution Project, explains how CISPA could change the way you use the Web.

They will keep trying to pass these bills until people get tired of hearing about it and stop protesting them. Eventually one will pass. The money behind them will never get tired of bribing congress to screw us all to protect their overpriced intellectual property. If they just offered artists work for reasonable prices and did not pay actors and producers insane amounts of money people would actually pay for stuff and they could still make money. Many artists have found you can make better profits without the riaa and mpaa sucking off of their talent even if there is some piracy.

I'd prefer that this not pass either, but who are you to decide that something is overpriced? Are you being forced to buy something or are they making things that you want but can't afford? If I invent something and decide that only you can use it, should others be able to take that away from us?
