This is like arguing that a country club isn't white only, because they only use unofficial means to push out potential black members.

Only to the tabloid politicos. It's not a relevant issue to the governor's office. This tactic of taking non issues and trying to make them front page news will stop as soon as enough people stop reacting to it. It's an attempted gotcha moment that fizzled and the racists are disappointed again. For instance, if you asked me about it I'd tell you I don't care one way or the other. Then those who want it to be an issue can stand on the street corner and call me a racist, I just won't be there to hear them. I have more important things to do. Ever heard the term "useful idiots"?

just out of curiosity, if the government, in any shape, at any level is not discriminating, is not favoring, is not interfering with one group or the other -- what business is it of anyone's other than the parties involved and the ones paying for these proms whether it is segregated or integrated?

People always cry about freedom but it always seems they want to impose their will, what "they think is right" on other people..

the only segregation I see as "just" is the self segregation that humans tend to engage in... which usually manifests itself in their forming of high trust sub-societies.
when they start becoming exclusionary, I start having a problem, though.
The congressional black caucus was formed in 1971, a time when overt racism was alive and well in politics. Black politicians were justifiably very leery about trusting a society which has systematically oppressed them for its entire existence. The black caucus was formed because it was one the one political group that would actually be able to provide influence for the black community.

Your continued attempts to pretend that is the same thing as the blind hatred that motivates segregated proms is simply bull****. Oppressed members of a minority group banding together for support is not motivated by racism, its the sad result of being on the receiving end of it.

Wilcox County is a majority white community in Georgia that has chosen to hold segregated proms. Yes, that means a group of people who happen to have low melanin content are engaging in racial persecution. Are you trying to imply that there is another possible explanation?

It's been going on so long, what makes you think that all the blacks want to party with whites?

Oh yes, I'm sure that the segregation is purely voluntary and that the black locals are totally invited to the prom and simply choose not to attend. That is pure rationalizing delusion. You sound like the bleeding heart idiots who claim that Osama Bin Laden was "framed".

the portion of your post found in bold font is why you are so wrong on this matter
racial discrimination is NOT a non-issue

for the governor to refuse to take a stand evidences his cowardice
