I agree with Bolling's point yesterday about Americans becoming wussies and political correctness being a major source.

There's the sense of entitlement since we don't let kid's experience failure nowadays. That includes things from not letting kids fail at school when their results are insufficient to handing out participation trophies. Some schools are even banning sporting activities to prevent anyone from feeling like a loser.

We surrender to just about any complaint, rather that seeing if any of the responsibility falls on the complainant. For example, schools are removing a cross or picture of Jesus if one or two people complain, even if a hundred want it there. Someone needs to speak up and tell them to ignore it if they don't like it.

You might say "the older generation always says the younger is worse." However, the upward trends for the numbers in divorce, kids born out of wedlock, government handouts, obesity, average age people live with parents until, etc. speak for themselves.

What will it take to get society to acknowledge these mistakes and fix them? Feel free to add more.

Eric Bolling: Mike Rice Firing Symbol Of 'The Wussification Of American Men' (VIDEO)

Mike Rice's firing has nothing to do with wussification and everything to do with abuse of power. There's a fine line between being tough on your players and being an abusive egomaniac. Eric Bolling is talking out of his ass.

Phil Jackson, Pat Riley, Gregg Popovich didn't have to throw basketballs and verbally abuse their players to become winners and build their players into becoming winners.

I'm not saying "wussification" isn't happening, but this isn't an example of it.

Unfortunately, I believe that it's a natural trend with a society such as ours, who has had a decent history of innovation and economic success overall. I think that toughness only happens as a result of necessity, but I also think that necessity will make itself known once again. It will be a time for seeing the wheat separate from the chaff.

We elected a president whose political career was marked by bold "present" voting who resolves things over a beer from his WH microbrewery thanks to Oprah helping him get elected. Sometimes there is just no denying reality. We are Vajayjays

a guy i sort of knew on another board-sadly deceased now-he came to America seeking better treatment for kidney issues than he could get in Australia and then became a citizen, stated as follows

a nation that tells all its children that they are winners, no matter what, quickly becomes a country full of losers

Excellent, and I would believe that. At the risk of having half the women, and some of the men here, come down on my head, I think that our high divorce rate, and so many children being raised by only their mother, has something to do with that. Mothers historically coddle and pamper the children, while fathers tell it like it is, and help the boys learn how to take life's knocks, then get back up again.

And speaking of losers, Mike Rice's Rutgers record is 44-51.

I think most children who grew in a single parent household would disagree with that. I believe the opposite - kids who grow up in a mother-only household tend to have to fend for themselves sooner than most.

I am pretty sure being politically correct isn't about throwing basketballs at people's heads when it is not a part of the game.

What schools are these again because i don't know too many schools that don't have sports, and the only time i know of them cutting sports is due to budgetary issues, and that is not about competition.

Actually, the school decided it's funds would be better spent on students rather than a costly legal fight for a picture, but that if the people around wanted to pay the costs to fight the ACLU on the matter they could. I would have to agree with the school's decisions on a picture that doesn't help anyone learn anything, and not pissing lots of money away on having it there when education is their purpose. It is not a church, so get over it. Oh, and if you want to donate some money to the fight for the picture i am pretty sure the local religious organizations will take it. We give funding to schools for kids to learn, not to be wasted on a picture of jesus.

You mean the older generation that endorsed segregation, fought for racism, fought for sexism, hated gays, imprisoned chinks in slavery camps. The generation that discriminated against WOPs, Micks, Spicks, Chinks, niggers, gooks, chicks, and towel heads? You mean those great people? The generation that beat their kids, and hid molestation? The generation that went on a witch hunt for commies, and brought us the cold war? I will deal with a couple of wussy emo brats over all of that.
What will it take to get society to acknowledge these mistakes and fix them? Feel free to add more.

yes, can't we go back to the days when you could beat your wife and child, and then go down to the local bar and talk trash about any number of nationalities, races, and women? Can't we go back to seeing commies around every corner and segregation? Can we go back to persecuting gays for blowjobs, which straight guys seem to love despite it being sodomy? Can't we go back to the days when your white ass was powerful and no one questioned you without getting smacked upside the head.

I think billy Joel may have said it the best. the good old days weren't always good and tomorrow aint as bad as it seems. Or perhaps it was the eagles when they said get over it. Either way, get yourself a time machine if you want to go backwards.

I think that has to do with society always trying to equate men and women, instead of focusing on the unique values of each. I even hear women complain about chivalry being gone. But I think that's partly due to fewer women acting like ladies. Every day you hear complaints for them to join boys football or military front line. Anyone who knows the basics of reverse-engineering can give the most likely reasons as to why men are physically stronger, women softer, men less emotional thinkers, etc. I credit a lot of my successful marriage to my wife and me being very traditional. From the day she moved in with me, we didn't even have to discuss responsibilities.

The right constantly whines about PC yet complains bitterly about speech that is offensive to Christians. Hypocrits.

It's tough, "blasphemy" no longer being a crime and all..........................

By ten, I had a job and siblings to look after. It wasn't good for me, as I wasn't ready. I was overly praised, but not coddled. My responsibilities were many, I carried burdens I couldn't even understand yet handle, and I certainly abused my power over my younger brothers and sister.

I'd say that chances are good he wasnt fired because the school feared his behavior but because the school feared what would happen if they didn't fire him.

Unfortunately, we've grown to become a culture of crybabies and losers who think they're entitled to become multimillionaires should they be fortunate enough to be yelled at or spill a hot cup of coffee in their own lap.

Eric Bolling: Mike Rice Firing Symbol Of 'The Wussification Of American Men' (VIDEO)

Back in the day I'd get "Boys Life" magazine. There would often be articles about identifying wildlife, setting snares and traps, building tip up's for fishing, marksmanship, archery, etc. We'd read the magazine and then go out and try some of the stuff. We had more or less free access to all kinds of hand tools and were expected to build our own forts. Somebody's dad would stop by from time to time to check progress and occasionally offer a little advice and somebody's mom was always available with iodine and band aids (though we tried to get the more gruesome stuff to dad first). We ALWAYS had contests and NOBODY wanted to come in last. We cheated at games and got caught...and paid the price. We figured out ways to get things done effectively and efficiently BECAUSE we failed so often and we were damned proud when we hit that milestone. It taught us integrity and determination and it was like a badge of honor when Mr. so and so would say "Call me Bob" (or whatever) because we knew that we had EARNED that respect.

When I got a little older and got busted coming home hours late and more than a little tipsy the penalty was usually a wake up at the crack of dawn, a greasy breakfast and a full day of hard labor. There might not have been a lot said but I knew that complaining wasn't going to fly and excuses were out of the question. When the day was over, dinner was finished and the dishes were cleaned I may well have been handed a beer which I knew was as much a reminder as it was a reward.

Today I just don't see as much of that. I was talking to a family friend the other day who was complaining about his high schooler slacking off. The kid was more interested in cars and girls than he was in grades. The guy admitted that he was a pushover and he was frustrated when his kid told him "I don't know" or "I don't remember" for every failure. I suggested that he wait until his kid fell asleep and then go out to the driveway, put his kids car up on blocks and hide the wheels. Then, in the morning when his kid noticed he could just shrug and say "I don't know". I'm pretty sure it never happened.

The left constantly whines about how Christians can be so judgmental... must not like the competition.

Or it could be because the flimsy facade of some sort of healthy, team spirit building comraderie building "future men & dads of America" was busted wide open.........................

Or one could be cool headed and see that this is nothing to get whiny about happening to a coach. But that would be the "old guy" thing to do.

No. What really bothers me is they are merely some special interest group thinking they are entitled to special treatment and taxfree status......................

If you're looking for cool headed people, you might want to try a forum dedicated to something like knitting or woodworking. :)

Oh come now, let's not put ALL liberals in that basket.

Reading works wonders too, I found. Anyhow, after reading too many history texts for my own good, certainly reading too many articles, hearing tv commentators yammer about the decline of American society because of some supposed change in gendered values, it becomes rather amusing at this point for me.

History: tends to calm your bum down.

Oh come now, let's not put ALL liberals in that basket.

Well, I couldn't care less about what the baby Jesus thinks about "sodomy", but I'm always hearing how much he thinks it's nasty..........His daddy thinks the same way, which I'm always hearing too.........................

History will show that America was destroyed by integration, immigration, feminization and homosexualization.

In other words, the Democrat Party platform, all protected by the terminally corrosive cancer of political correctness.
