Sure he could of just accidently chosen words that are exactly what is used by the religious right. A comparison condemned as homophobic everytime their used.

I don't know him though...neither do most people so the fact beastiality and pedophilia was the first things that popped in his head when discussing same sex marriage is the only thing I have to go off of.

Calling blacks who think for themselves "Uncle Tom" "Token" "Oreo" "Sambo" ect has nothing to do politics. It's specifically targeting and attacking someone because of their race.

That's what being judged here. Rampant racism against blacks by liberals. It's not my problem the content of their character is lacking and they are racist. Maybe you should show some integrity for once and denounce the vile racism being directed at Dr. Carson. An accomplished brain surgeon surgeon who saves people's lives. By not doing so, and repeatedly trying to rationalize and justify the racism against him, you are only showing your own racism.

Well now hold on...they ARE comparable in that they are all defined as 'sins' specifically listed in the Bible. While you may hate THAT reality, you probably lose your MIND over the reality that the current guy occupying the White House ALSO believes in that same Bible and has stated he too based on his belief system believes homosexuality to be a sin. I dont think he has 'compared' them but the comparison strictly in the sense that they are sexual practices defined as a 'sin' is undeniable. YOU of course are under NO obligation to believe that the Bible is divinely inspired and that those 'sins' even matter. Just sayin...the president does.

There was definately a bump...from 70ish percent to 90ish percent following Civil Rights but the only large shift following Civil Rights was the loss of the deep south white vote. Edit: Truman actually recieved above 80% of the black vote...of course well before the Civil Rights Act was passed in 64.

You might want to actually look at LBJs on words on why he passed the civil rights bill, or why he nominated a black supreme court justice.

So you are saying blacks started voting Democrat after they started offering free things? Thats pretty racist of you.

SURE...its a GREAT thing. But it doesnt negate the facts and what i have said all along in this thread. LBJ signed it to get black votes (the same reason he nominated black judges). And its great that it passed...but it doesnt make the faux expression of concern or care over the needs and problems of the black community any less real. But then...passage of appeasement acts never did much good.

Weeeeee! We named a street after MLK! We 'care'! (side note...travel advisory...do NOT go down streets named after MLK in major cities in America)

A free pass for what? I like what the President said in 2007. In fact I'm upset that his actions don't mirror what he's said.

We are talking about a guy here that said something and then said "I didn't really mean that". I said I don't find that believable because he is a self proclaimed member of the christian right and he basically said what is repetated by the Christian right.

As for this weird path you're trying to go down. Obama also has mentioned a creator. So did the founders...does that make him a founder? So does the Christian right...does that make him a member of the Christian right? I have no idea what we're arguing now.

Actually why don't you provide the quote and the link. The only quote I know of concerning the ramifications of the Civil Rights Act that LBJ talked about was that it would split the party and parties hold on the deep south.

I didn't say that...you just said that. I stated a fact...that in the election of 1932 the black vote swung heavily to the Democrats and has stayed there since. That blacks overwhelming identified as Democrats before the passage of the Civil Rights act.

The fact that is your first thought that says a lot though! My first thought was that they shifted to Democrats with the rest of the American electorate after the failure of Hoover and Laissez Faire economics. They were part of the New Deal coalition that dominated politics for 40 years.

How am I rationalizing? How am I racist? I actually said that he is a very intelligent, articulate man, and by all accounts a good doctor. I don't think his experience is good to be President. We made that mistake in '08, making it again won't be any better.

You're just so desperate to accuse someone of being racist because they don't think this man should be President. Keep playing the race card. Of course, you would NEVER do that, since you're not a Liberal. :lamo

I can agree with you as you've written this. Some people, though, have extra disdain for a minority conservative. If any part of the disdain has to do with their race, wouldn't you agree that would indicate racism?

A. What does that even mean,"change the definition of marriage"?

B. I'm not aware of any pedophile and animal-sex loving groups advocating changing the definition of marriage, whatever that means.

C. Nobody I know of is trying to "change the defintion of marriage" -- gay people just want to get married.

So now, explain why he used pedophiles and other sex crimnals in the same context of gay people wanting to get married -- except to inflame and insult (which you know was the purpose)
