GOP Lawmaker Calls Hispanic Workers ‘Wetbacks’

That's laughable. I lived that history and have studied it. My father was Sgt At Arms for the California State Legislature and a close friend of the original Governor Brown. As a kid I spent time with democratic party leaders in our home. I heard the racial jokes they told, heard my father telling them constantly those had no place in our house.

A conservative republican uses a racial slur, and the tea party emerges reminiscing about some Democratic politician who told a racist joke 40 years ago.

That's how the conservative mind "thinks".

Hold on to that thought. Everyone knows the GOP is the party of racist homophobes. Like I said, I hope they continue calling Mexicans wetbacks, black people n-words, women sluts and gay folks homos. The party needs to hit rock bottom. The faster the better it is for everyone.

Nobody in the world could be this silly. This post is like a true loon saying "We are united in our love of diversity." Nobody hates each other like the various client groups in that big, diverse Liberal Circus tent. The only thing that unites the loons is their hatred of traditional America and anyone who cuts off their freebies. The Mexicans hate the blacks so much they're driving them out of California in order to take their traditional cities and neighborhoods. The blacks and gays hate everybody. The Homosexuals hate anyone who is Christian. The feminists hate all straight men, particularly fathers. Their messiah Obama unites them in hate.

Absolute silliness.

Not Mexican migrants, ILLEGAL Mexican immigrants. They are wetbacks, and that's not a racial/ethnic slur. This isn't a party issue. There really are just as many racist Democrats as there are Republicans.

A conservative republican uses a racial slur, and the tea party emerges to claim Democrats are racist.

That's how the conservative mind "thinks".

And you're a dope, that's how all liberal minds think. How's that for a generalization?

We all know the Southern Democrats of the 60's were bad people. Sadly today's Republicans are following in their footsteps.

Actually the 60's southern democrats either died or became republicans.

Well, you would seem to be an expert on hate. I wonder how that happened?

A guy "whiter than the toilet". Wow that's not racist. So would you consider it racist if we said President Osama is blacker than an 8 ball? What if we said he'd make a great lawn jockey?

Many of you do say those things. Many more of you think them.

Yes, racial slurs used to be a lot more popular. Along with things like segregation or slavery and votings bans and whatnot.

If using racial slurs is a way to gain respect in your universe, I'm glad I don't live there.

And these jokers think they can actually compete for the growing Hispanic vote!?!?!?!? :doh What idiots they are.

I'm not playing games, and I'm calling Bullsh!t on your claims. Republicans and Democrats attract racists, sexists, homophobes and xenophobes equally, which is why I am neither.

Then you find and list for us a series of links where democrats are calling Mexicans wetbacks, women sluts, blacks n-words and gays homos like I did for Republicans.

You didn't. You cited a random woman on Facebook, a radio show host, and a Congressman who said no such thing that you claimed.

I listed the Republican's chief mascott and head cheerleader in Limbaugh, a GOP congressman wanting gays struck dead, and a Republican woman who said exactly what the tea party has been saying for years, as I quoted in the link to Salon.

Right, like I said, you didn't back up your claim. Please show me Republican politicians who SAID WHAT YOU CLAIM REPUBLICANS SAY. Rush isn't a politician in any party, a random woman on Facebook, who the hell knows what she is? And a Congressman that said nothing that you claimed. Nice!

And you quote Salon to make your case? That's rich.

Look, it's like saying the dems are the home of elitists, socialists and snobs. There's some truth to it in some cases, but applying it to the group invalidates it and makes it into just another slur against that group.

You just parroted Pat Buchanan. Although that's not the point, it was mentioned below. Hiding from the point by pretending to be working class, when in truth it's the racist Bucanan who is an elitist.

From the Salon article.
...almost uniformly white tea partiers are anything other than a racist, right-wing reaction to the election of an African American president who brings with him feminists and gays (even if he doesn’t do as much for them as they would ideally like). I’m having a hard time seeing the tea partiers as anything other than the spawn of George Wallace racism – the movement Pat Buchanan bragged to me that Richard Nixon made his own. Of course, in that same “Hardball” segment, Buchanan denounced me for condescending to and “demonizing” the tea partiers. I still find that rich: I grew up in lower middle class Long Island, with a first-generation Irish father, going to public schools and universities, while the wealthy Buchanan grew up in Washington D.C. with professionals as parents and attended Georgetown University.

I never said a politician said it. You made that up after I showed republicans saying it.

Rush may not be a politician, but he is certainly a party leader.

What??? No he is not a party leader. I don't know where you get that claim from.

Ok, so your claim is stupid. There's plenty of people who identify as both Republicans and Democrats who say dumb, racist, sexist, homophobic stuff. What's your point?

OH stop it. Rush probably has the most power of any single person in the party. His listeners aka dittoheads are disciple like.

so, rather than read what you wrote i should read what you intended to have written

got it

you created the error

but i am the one who needs to act differently

how long have you been a registered republican

No, but nice strawman you built. What you failed to take into consideration was the post I was responding to. You ignore the context of the whole conversation. But keep on if that is working for you.

I was a registered republican for 15 years, before that I was a registered democrat. For the last 8 years I have been a registered independent.

I call bullsh!t on that. Rush is a freaking radio show host, and he's not even a Republican (he's a Libertarian). Rush is no more of a party leader for Republicans than Al Franken is for the Democrats.

Ok sure.

Senator Al Franken is the official clown under the Democrat Circus Tent.

He ran on a platform as being a clown.

nah.. he's not a Libertarian... he's not even a (small L) libertarian.

but I agree that he isn't the leader of the GOP....that's a bunch of fluff.
