    apdst-
point to where I claim to first be able to do anything, and second would do anything? (Goshin is the guy claiming the schools could get into trouble, and I could be capable of that- not me)

I was just curious just out of all the schools (number unknown) Goshin has attended, which ones didn't check back rounds or keep records on who they taught. I've done a lap or two around this track, not checking who you are training or keeping a record of that just seems irresponsible.

I don't plan on doing a thing about any school Goshin claims to have done the above, just checking for myself.

No Constitutional problems, it is in the footsteps of President Reagan-

    Trust but verify...

Hasn't it already been proven that he used pistols and not the Bushmaster? I seem to remember it was in his car but wasn't used. Does that seem like sloppy journalism or just outright sensationalism and lies? ZOMG he had a book on pistol shooting! Awesome. I guess every one of you who has a book on PC operating systems is a cyber terrorist, huh?

According to the search warrants he used the Bushmaster and the pistol on himself.

"Investigators determined that Lanza murdered the children and their teachers with a Bushmaster .223 caliber model XM15 rifle. He shot himself with a Glock 10 mm handgun.

He also carried a Sig Sauer P226 9mm pistolm and police found a 12 gauge shotgun in his car."

    Copies of the warrants here

He burned through 6 magazines, too; so the, "changing magazines will slow him down", theory goes out the window.

When you are the only guy with a gun in a gun free zone reloading is not really a problem. I've seen people in timed events fumble magazine changes and end up not finishing in time, and there was no one shooting back.

Adam Lanza didn't seem to have a problem with his mag changes.

My point being, that the argument put forth by the anti-gunners, is that if a shooter has to change magazines sooner it will cause a lull in the firepower, creating a window for someone to subdue the shooter. That's certainly a possibility, but I sure as hell wouldn't bet my life on it.

Well that can go either way. But the size of the magazine doesn't change the lethality of the rifle one bit, or in his case the pistols, because while the Bushmaster was found in his car he didn't use it. He used a pair of pistols. If you are talking one shooter, especially someone is practiced and not in an unusually stressful position (which varies depending on who it is and what they have seen) probably not a big deal. But if there are multiple armed targets or someone shooting back who is running large capacity (and keep in mind a 25 round mag for one of my 22 rifles or a 30 round mag for an AR15 is a STANDARD mag, not a high cap) it can be. I don't want to be trying to change out a mag if I'm faced with multiple AGRESSIVE targets.

That's what I don't understand about this law. Or rather I DO get it, it's a baby step toward removing more things, and that's all it is. If there is no significant effect and there is no eventual goal there is no reason to make the change. Same as the proposed AWB. If everything that is already out there is grandfathered in the question becomes "Well it's not going to effect what you have, so why not pass it?" When the real question should be "If it is not going to have an effect then why pass it?" Doing something for no reason is not logical, therefore there must be a reason. And there is very little honesty about what that reason is. Congress is really good at doing nothing. In this case there was a lot of effort that went in to that bill, therefore there must be a reason.

I can understand LE prefering people having smaller capacity than they do, especially if the shooter is inexperienced. But what happens when the agressor IS LE? Like the guy out in LA?

Right you are! Why publish a manual on the proper and safe use of a firearm?

Yeah, the NRA should have made it easier for him by providing larger magazines and making sure he was trained in their "use".
