Texas Republican congressman got into a late-night verbal altercation with U.S. Park Police officers earlier this month, pulling rank in an attempt to get out of a parking ticket near the Lincoln Memorial. Gohmert’s communications director, Kimberly Willingham, told POLITICO via email that the congressman had dinner with his stepsister and her husband that evening and decided to drive them to the memorial. Gohmert told an officer that he “did not have time to deal with the issue,” according to the report. The report says that Gohmert told officers “I left my business card with the ticket and I am not paying for a ticket” and drove off without further incident.

Washington law says members of Congress may park their cars “in any available curb space in the District of Columbia” when it is being used “on official business” and displaying the congressional registration tag issued by the member’s home state. Members may not block loading zones, fire hydrants or rush hour zones. A Park Police spokesman and Capitol Hill source said a congressional plate would not allow a lawmaker to park in a reserved spot near the Lincoln Memorial

Louie Gohmert: Who picked him?

Gee - pickings are slim for the Gardener today - a parking ticket is your big story?

A quick look at Google shows one of your liberal heroes, Barney Frank, using his congressional office to get his male prostitute lover, Steve Gobie, off the hook for 33 parking tickets back in the 80's.

Your outrage is duly noted and the subject of more laughter today.

Unfortnatly for your argument Barney frank is no longer in congress and his parking tickets issues from around thirty years ago do not relate to Louie gohmerts parking ticket which happened more recently.

Hmmm. Well, yes, they do relate, but I can imagine how you don't want that to be so.

From your perspective, what's unfortunate for my argument is that Barney Frank is a liberal hero and Louie Gohmert is a conservative. Liberals, like Frank and Clinton, who disgrace themselves in office, soon become national saints among their brethren, thus a single parking ticket to a conservative is a national tragedy and fixing 33 parking tickets for your slut boyfriend is old news.

Some here can not stay on topic. I guess their agendas will not be dictated by facts.

Unlike you, whose agenda is dictated only by hate mongering.

The Frank and Gohmert incidents are related.
Both are examples of our elite, political ruling class members abusing their power.
Pay the ticket(s) and STFU.
On a side note, I'm amazed that Louie-Louie Gohmert has the time to eat dinner.
Gohmert's courageous fight against muslim terror-babies must keep him SO busy.

Well, I'm sure there are many side notes to the selective tunes you prefer to listen to.

I've read your posts for a few years now.
Therefore, I can say with complete confidence, that my playlist includes hits from both political parties.
You, on the other hand, can't even admit that Louie is a whacko.

Well, perhaps that's because I didn't offer an opinion on Louie.

True enough.
However, since this IS a Gohmert thread...What do you think of Louie-Louie?

Well, I haven't really paid much attention to Gohmert. However, he does seem to get locked onto the lefts radar, doesn't he?

You have to understand that I've been subjected to the likes of Rep. Maxine Waters here in Southern California for years, so my qualifier for wacko may be a bit higher than some folks.

My sympathy.

I can admit that Waters is wacky.
I can admit that Alan Grayson is wacky.
It seems that most GOPers are unable to admit that they have wackoes amongst them.
Allen West....wacko, Joe Walsh....wacko, Steve King...wacko, Michele Bachmann...wacko.

Not sure what your point is. I've admitted my wacko meter is not the same as yours, as I am sure it's not the same as others.

Seems to me, you're trying to cast a rather large net based on how others stack up against your opinion.

Try Michele Bachmann, Keith Ellison, and Al Franken. At least I don't live in Bachmann's district, but the other 2 numbnuts...

Not so numb they aren't able to get enough votes to stay in office. One persons wacko is another persons genius (or banker).

Lord, but she is quite nasty.

And to think, she demands that her poorly served constiuents "love" her, while she resides in her mansion miles away in Hancock Park. Quite the vile and worthless human being.

What about CHuck Shumer refusing to turn off his cell phone on an airplane? He endangered the lives of a hundred+ citizens and tol the stewardess, "**** you".

He's still on Congress.

Well, Chuck was probably involved in a discussion of critical national importance....y'know....talking to a large donor.;)
If this incident occurred as you have stated, then Schumer's bad behavior should be condemned.
Our leaders, from both parties, should exhibit better behavior.

Louie Gohmert: Who picked him?

I did, for one. While I certainly would of liked to make a different choice, his primary opponent was a woman who's resume read as an Obama loving welfare liberal. I would rather see Louie go back than to have electing an anti-American socialist Liberal on my conscious. The only other "candidate" that ran was a Libertarian who never campaigned and didn't even have a web-site where we could learn anything about him.
