Personally I'd like to see it outlawed with each candidate being given a stipend that he can't exceed. Not only will it help severe corporate influence, it'll show who is able to stretch a buck further.
I agree with setting a cap. It makes no sense that congressman make just over 100K for a salary and are able to receive an unlimited amount from corporations. Just making up names here, but let's say Billy B is a congressman making $750k per year, $100K is his salary and $650k is from corporate donations. I highly doubt Billy is doing the right thing for the people who elected him since the corp money is 6 times his salary.
Scientific fact: If you took all of the veins from your body and laid them end to end, you would die.

Politicians shouldn't be able to make a dime more than their listed salary. The biggest problem we're facing in America today is the fact that our politicians are being bought like packs of cigarettes by corporate lobbyists.

It simply blows my mind that the left will whine all day about how powerful corporations have become, yet their solution is to give more power and more money to the very politicians who are dancing like puppets for their lobbyist masters.

Campaigning does not need to be regulated. It should be outlawed.

I can get behind 100%. Show the world who bought your campaign for you and lets see who you probably have best interests in mind for.
I like it.As long as they make that apply to unions and that the more money that candidate got from any group or company the bigger the logo.I think libs are under the delusion that its just republicans who receive funds from companies.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

Populist nonsense. Maybe we should ask what radio commentator the petition signer likes best so as to enable us to figure out who to ignore.
