WASHINGTON -- The National Rifle Association came under fire late Thursday from members of a gun-control advocacy group in Newtown, Conn., after reports surfaced of Newtown residents receiving robocalls and pro-gun postcards from the NRA.

OK, I get it. I don't want the kind of gun control that the Democrats want to lay on us either. I'm with you. Just don't be such a ****ing douche bag about it. Leave the people of Newton alone. OK?

But it's okay for the president, Colo governor et al to parade the parents around?

The sensible thing to do is to adopt the democratic gun control laws and let people live in peace. I'd add make every gun owners' address available on the internet so you know who has guns and who doesn't. AND I'd make it a crime to NOT have guns locked in safes. But that's just me. I'm tired of kids getting their parents' guns and killing other children with them.

I'm pretty sure those parents are more than willing to speak out for gun control.

well the parents are their by choice.

That makes it okay? They're duped by politicians but it's their choice and it is NRA's choice to counter. their 'rights' trump others?

I'm pretty sure those parents are more than willing to speak out for gun control.

Again that's their choice to be complicit with murder.

You know what that would do?.....

1. It would ensure that NONE of my firearms were locked up.
2. It would ensure that ALL of my firearms were fully loaded and ready to go at ALL times.
3. It would ensure that many others would do the same thing.
4. It would likely get a lot of people killed when they came to try and steal firearms from people on that public list.

Obama used chilren for his photo op, so therefore NRA robocalls are ok.

AMEN brother!!!!!

Well you just created the seed list for Robberies and unless you are going to require a search warrant to validate your second bolded statement, you violated the 4th Amendment too. Congratulations.

First, I doubt the "local gun control group" really requires all that much to be 'outraged' about. Second, I can see where maybe the town of Newtown might be considered off limits, but the fact is that not every parent at that school was thrilled about the gun control groups using this tragic event to further their own agenda. The pretense of caring 'for the children' is pretty repugnant...especially considering how they completely ignore the violence and death in the inner cities every day.

Obama brought these people into play when he put several of them behind him at a White House Press Conference. IF the Town had all closed the doors and said "We don't want to take ANY side in this debate. ALL of you go away!!!" then they'd have a point.

AMEN brother!!!!!

I get the distinct feeling that these people believe we're the Scots, the English or the Aussies. We're not walking into the local LEO office and handing over our firearms. It's just that simple.

As soon as you and your ilk manage to go take the guns out of the hands of thugs and criminals in gangs and inner cities across the country, then you can come talk to me about mine. Of course, we should start with some basic realities...1-you dont give half a rats ass about the people being killed in the streets in every major city across the country, 2-you damn sure have no intention of targeting the perpetrators of those crimes, 3-you will never acknowledge that my guns arent a threat to you but you will still gleefully target law abiding citizens and NOT those that are responsible for killing 11,000 people a year and finally 4th-you wont be able to get around that pesky 2nd Amendment taht guarantees the rights of law abiding citizens to keep and bear arms.

If you are really getting tired of kids dying, you should be out there leading the charge to clean up the streets. Your comments are complete bull****. You arent tired of the kids being killed...you gleefully anticipate the opportunity to exploit the dead for your ideological goals. Oh...I dont think you want them to die...but as soon as there is the right kind of shooting (a school shooting where lots of cute little pink faced children can be exploited) perpetrated by the right kind of criminal (a white person) with the right kind of gun (an assault style weapon), baby...you are all over it.

Meanwhile...care to guess what the body count is up to since the Sandy Hook tragedy on the streets of Illinois? California?

So, if Obama sticks his head in a bucket of goat manure, you will stick your head in a bucket of goat manure too, just because Obama did it?

OK, then.

Obama opened the door to politicizing the people and events of Sandy Hook. It's that simple.

That is not sensible, that would put a lot of blood on your hands.

Also a gun in a safe is useless for home defense.

I think you're a dangerous ignoramus, but that's just me. That kind of unconstitutional bull**** is exactly what your gun grabber politicians can not openly state they want else their incrementalist steps towards them would be DOA.

I'm wondering how many parents were wishing there was someone else in the school with a gun to save some children. Remember, the second someone showed up with a gun, he killed himself. So of course, let's ban guns. And free speech while we're on that road. Only one side of the argument allowed.

Newtown has a population of 27,000 people. A tragic event certainly happened at the grade school last year but a relatively small percentage of the residents were directly impacted. The NRA calls are designed to be informative and to motivate action to counter newly proposed pro-gun control legisation. Just as others are loudly promoting the new legislation.

HuffPost is (not surprisingly) distorting the story and blowing it out of proportion.

Better, also require publishing the address and name of everyone who does not have a gun - plus pictures of those people would be nice - and require a sign on their residential doors reading "NO FIREARMS PRESENT." Pictures of the people of those homes would make shopping for women, children and the elderly more efficient.

As I often have said, Obama has totally obliterated and reversed what it meant to be "liberal." Liberals used to strongly support privacy rights. Now - for Obama and Democrats - liberals rage against personal privacy in relation to the government. Traditional liberally is reversed, dead and buried for all practical purposes in the USA. It has been replaced with Corporate and governmental fascism.

So, if Obama sticks his head in a bucket of goat manure, you will stick your head in a bucket of goat manure too, just because Obama did it?

OK, then.
I don't believe I've made any photo-ops or robocalls for my personal actions to be relevant.

If obama sticks his head in bucket of goat manure and then the NRA's dog pees on a hydrant, I'm going to likewise think the NRA is the lesser to 2 evils.

But it's okay for the president, Colo governor et al to parade the parents around?

Yes.

It's okay for parents who lost their children to gun violence to join with politicians who support stricter background checks.

You think the President and Governor have mind control powers?

You don't see how pathetically bad your analogy is?

We already know all about the bluff and bluster, what will really be the case remains to be seen.

Actually when the 'list' was posted in NY State there were 170 burglaries, only 2, two, dos, were on that list. no one died.

Do YOU know what it would do???

I don't really see what the big deal is.

I listened to the video and I don't see anything that constitutes being "a ****ing douche bag about it".
