I don't see a problem here. Seems gun control advocates need to use more Vagisil.

Antigun people don't think. At all. There is absolutely no logic to your processes...you are merely driven to pass a ban...a law...SOMETHING...ANYTHING. that it is ineffective and proven to be ineffective....well Hell...why let that get in your way.
No I insist background checks is something that should be done...not "the ticket". The idea that when you purchase a weapon that you're not screened to find out if you can legally own one or have mental problems is just insane.

The fact is the majority of Americans probably have no idea what the gun laws are. They were probably unaware that a felon could buy a weapon at a gun show and walk off with it with no check, no wait period, a minimal effort. Unfortunately for gun enthuisiasts and the NRA mass shootings have put gun laws in the news again and people are becoming aware of what those gun laws are.

It's how things work. A vocal minority with funding can get what they want if nobody else cares but when something gets ****ed up...then people start caring.

Felons can buy guns off the street corner from the same place they buy their drugs. You know...the banned drugs. And the fact remains... Antigun people did nothing more than seize on a tragedy to promote mindless laws that support their ideology and did not stop and WOULD not stop the tragedy. You want to talk about a way to make free green light background checks available to private citizens...great. We can have that conversation. By stop exploiting dead children under the pretense of 'caring' when you know damn good and well what you are proposing did nothing and would do nothing to prevent the tragedy. And we know that because what you are proposing was already in place and did nothing.

Are the people of Newton somehow precluded from their second amendment rights? what do you feel of the argument that had the teachers who tried to stop the shooter had themselves been armed, in accordance with those same 2nd amendment rights, much of the tragedy could have been avoided? The laws being proposed by the libofascists never would have stopped the newton massacre. Armed teachers just might have. Newton sounds like the perfect place for just such a debate.
