This nation might survive, because we are resilient, but there won't be a lot of happiness in the day-to-day grind of survival!

Right now the government is paying roughly 2% on its treasury bonds. What happens when the interest level approaches 6% which was the norm and the debt reaches 20 trillion. That would make the interest payment every year roughly 1.2 trillion a year. Last years total revenues was approximately 2.5 trillion.
This Reform Party member thinks it is high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first and their political party further down the line. But for way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.

IMO, then came Bush and the Crash.

But I agree with your main point.

Watch how quickly the story flips....

So you are suggesting that the democrats were responsible for Bush's spending the moment they took control of the house and senate in 2007?

Last I knew Obama had the power to veto anything passed by the Congress and Senate. The buck stops with him. Or any other President for that matter.

Hate to break it to you but taxing the rich will not get us out of debt at the current rate that Democrats AND Republicans are spending money. There are going to HAVE to be cuts and it only makes since to start with the biggest hogs there are. Defense and the poor.
