Jeb Bush isn't ruling out a run for the White House in 2016.
"That's way off into the future," Bush, a Republican and former Florida governor, responded on Monday's "Today" show when asked about a possible presidential bid. "I won't [rule it out], but I won't declare today either."
Bush was on the NBC show to promote his upcoming book, “Immigration Wars: Forging an American Solution," but the interview quickly turned into idle 2016 temperature taking.
I think a presidential run by Jeb Bush is going to be very problematic. He speaks fluent Spanish, as does his brother, George W, and supports a pathway to citizenship for illegal aliens. On top of that, he is very supportive of New Jersey Governor Christie, who has now become a pariah amongst the Republican faithful.
However, should he pull off a miracle and get the nomination, his candidacy would be very competitive, which is something I cannot say about other possible candidates. But 2016 is a long ways off. The road to that nomination is going to be a very interesting one, and the winners of the ongoing civil war inside the GOP will determine who runs.
