Chris Christie ‘Not Being Invited’ to CPAC

Saying that Republicans would want/try to prevent citizens from voting is really despicable.

All we have to do is tell the truth. Last year, the governor of Pennsylvania actually came right out and said that they, i.e., the Republicans, had gotten the voter ID law passed and that this (Voter ID) "is gonna allow Governor Romney to win the state of Pennsylvania"." On the link for this, you can not only read it, but watch the guy say it. http://www,thinkprogress.org/electi...-laws-are-gonna-allow-governor-romney-to-win/

Christie said the CPAC,it's their party they can invite who they want to, He's not worried,he has a State to run!.............Yeah right! ijs:shock:

I like this thread. It reassures me that the GOP hasn't learned a thing, and that they'll continue to go with the same losing strategies. Look at all the outrage that Christie would dare praise that Obama for doing a good job in a crisis. Christie believed that the GOP was standing in the way of the effort to help his stricken state, and that Obama was doing a good job helping. So he expressed that belief. He was honest, and put his state above partisan politics. I don't agree with Christie on most things, but I like the fact that he's able to be straight like that. I wish more people, on both sides, could acknowledge when the other side does something right.

But to most republicans, it seems, that is a cardinal sin. Truth be damned.

Democrats really should nominate Christie for 2016 so finally there would be an honest politician.

Voters should have to produce and ID, fill out an extensive sworn statement and questionaire, and undergo a background check before being allowed a voter registration card.

Yeah, but that still wont help All the Dead that somehow manages to keep voting in Elections for those Demos. Kinda hard to tell Skull and bones apart, ya knows. ;)

"Oh", nor all those locked up in Prison and that manage to call in their Votes. Have to watch out for those Liberal and Progressive Democrats, not only are they devious but they're tricky too.

Mind you this is what Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act was intended to prevent - the requirement by states that people must conform to specific "qualifiers" before being allowed to exercise their Constitutial right to vote. Being at least 18 years of age AND an American citizen - natural born or naturalized - should be the only legal requirements for voter registration and subsequently casting your vote. Of course, there's alittle more to it but that's the nuts and bolts of it. Just thought your comment were the perfect segway into the voting rights debate that's forthcoming to the Supreme Court. Now, back to the CPAC debate.

So you're saying Republicans wont vote for an honest politician? :lamo

The truth hurts.

I don't think Pennsylvania represents the entire GOP. I don't think the entire Republican Party wishes to suppress voting. Suggesting that it does is an indefensible overgeneralization.

I mean, believe as you please. But know what kinds of folks stereotype--whether it's about voting or any other issue.

Actually, it's because he's not nearly crazy enough for those whack-jobs.

Perhaps you hope that Christie will see the light and be embraced by the Democrat Party?

And you're delusional:

GOP Consultant Admits Long Lines At Polls "Help Our Side" - Beach Peanuts

Republican Party of Florida Chairman Jim Greer, who said there were meetings conducted to suppress the black vote, and that the GOP used "phantom" voter fraud as a marketing tool to change election laws to make sure the high Democratic voter turnout in 2008 for President Obama wouldn't happen again.

Some republicans do supress voting. That makes them despicable.

Oh boo hoo! You mean he's no longer considered a conservative?

On both sides in congress there are the hard cores and for a politician to speak honestly is outlawed today more than ever before as the two sides grow further apart. Diplomacy and statesmanship are deceased. You can read the posts here, some not trusting Christy and others not trusting the left and right. Regardless, if he continues to speak honestly he gets my vote. To not vote for such a person rep. or dem. is only proof that party rules over right versus wrong and that is what keeps the filthy government from being able to function. Honesty can never be viewed as a burden on our goverment even though that is exactly what it is viewed as.
