Mind you this is what Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act was intended to prevent - the requirement by states that people must conform to specific "qualifiers" before being allowed to exercise their Constitutial right to vote. Being at least 18 years of age AND an American citizen - natural born or naturalized - should be the only legal requirements for voter registration and subsequently casting your vote. Of course, there's alittle more to it but that's the nuts and bolts of it. Just thought your comment were the perfect segway into the voting rights debate that's forthcoming to the Supreme Court. Now, back to the CPAC debate.

I don't think Pennsylvania represents the entire GOP. I don't think the entire Republican Party wishes to suppress voting. Suggesting that it does is an indefensible overgeneralization.

I mean, believe as you please. But know what kinds of folks stereotype--whether it's about voting or any other issue.

Speculation is that this is about Christie's handling of Hurricane Sandy.
Actually, it's because he's not nearly crazy enough for those whack-jobs.

Perhaps you hope that Christie will see the light and be embraced by the Democrat Party?

    And you're delusional:

Some republicans do supress voting. That makes them despicable.

On both sides in congress there are the hard cores and for a politician to speak honestly is outlawed today more than ever before as the two sides grow further apart. Diplomacy and statesmanship are deceased. You can read the posts here, some not trusting Christy and others not trusting the left and right. Regardless, if he continues to speak honestly he gets my vote. To not vote for such a person rep. or dem. is only proof that party rules over right versus wrong and that is what keeps the filthy government from being able to function. Honesty can never be viewed as a burden on our goverment even though that is exactly what it is viewed as.
