Yeah - that's what I was thinking. Do people really think they'd be so stupid as to actually set the place on fire on purpose after discussing it over the airwaves? Come on - think, people.

    Ya, I have one...

Has any prominent left politician *insert Obama* come out with one word of sympathy/compassion for Dorner's victims?

    Don't know - I haven't been watching the news . . . only reading it online.

When it comes to crazed killers no one ever talks about the victims - the killer is more interesting. I don't even know how many he killed.

The fact that this was what was after the media was told to stop filming, I doubt they expected that the media was still listening to the radio...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=po9Ea...e_gdata_player

Maybe this will clear it up, police saying "burn that mother****er down", and add that to the section of the first video where they describe lighting the fire "like I told you in private", then he's told to put the burner, comes back saying its lit... And th place burns down.

    Are you serious?!?

If they came and admitted the fact that this guy had killed cops, resisted arrest, etc... At a certain point they have to end things while keeping people out of harms way, so with honesty I wouldnt even be all that mad... But you actually believe the story told after that.... Wow.

"Burner is the nomenclature of the incendiary delivery device for tear gas. They already tried the safer, less effective, non-incendiary tear gas, and it failed to force evacuation. The next step is the burner, and it does have a fire risk, but it will not start a huge fire instantaneously. The suspect had plenty of time to evacuate. The comment that the burner had been delivered and a fire had started happens at 1:30 on the audio, the single shot from inside the cabin happened at 3:07.

The suspect had penty of time to evacuate the cabin. HE, the SUSPECT, chose not to evacuate.

It is not like they napalmed the building and it was immediately incinerated.

Like I have said on other threads, cops routinely violate people's rights, innocent people, and we should be angry about that. This was not innocent people and his rights were not violated.

Has anyone? Everything I've read here seems to obsess over the suspect and the police, with little or nothing about the victims beyond determining whether they were involved in Dorner's sacking or police officers and therefore "deserved it".

Well they were stupid enough to fire a military veteran sniper with a 3-man panel in which two of them were affiliated with his partner whom he lodged a complaint against for kicking a homeless guy in the face.

So yeah, I think they could be that stupid.

Except guilty people have rights too. Such as to due process, no cruel and unusual punishment, and trial by a jury of his peers.

The LAPD burning a man alive in a cabin is a violation of those rights - and is more egregious when his acts were done because of corruption in the LAPD.

Well, he's dead now. It's a risk you take when you wage war on the police.

I guess the suspect is (was I guess) claiming he never did anything wrong. And that the "manifesto" was involved in something for acting with other person.

Via some fax that was sent into a local news joint supposedly.

“It’s not me!,” Dorner says in the statement. “I have been out of town on vacation and just heard the news that I am blamed for killings I did not and never would commit. This “manifesto” the police are using against me is just a few ideas for a screenplay I am working on with my former colleague Mark Fuhrman. Tell my mom I’m OK. Once again… the cops have it all wrong…. I will soon be in touch.”
Reading about this note, his note with the church money and his previous scenario where he ratted out on a cop that kicked someone in the face.... Something smells fishy?
