I'll accept it until they arm the drone and start trying to gun him down.

Well you go ahead and use a helicopter in the way they use them. See what happens.

Anyway, a helicopter and a drone are not even comparable. One is loud, huge, and not designed for surveillance and the other is small, almost undetectable by sound and designed for surveillance. The fact is you don't want the government being able to watch people without them knowing. It is just a horrible idea.

I'm thinking the only thing a drone and a helicopter have in common other than both probably using common materials, is that they both fly. Beyond that, the technology is entirely different and the goal of the technology is entire different along with it's potential uses.

I certainly anticipate reading about such an event in the not so distant future. People must start to accept the fact that if abuse is likely, or not specifically abolished, it will occur if it is profitable in any feasible extent.

That shouldn't be too far into the future.

What do you suppose the reaction will be the first time a citizen takes down a drone?

What do you suppose the reaction will be the first time a drone takes down your neighbor while they are in the middle of having a family BBQ?

Drones are often incredibly loud what are you talking about? They are giant freaking aircraft with turbines in them. Early Predator variants were described as sounding like "Lawnmowers in the sky".

The government can already watch you without you knowing if they really wanted to. It's called a plane, a satellite, a camera, or any number of things.

The same our reaction would be if a helicopter fired a freaking rocket into a family BBQ.

For the billionth time a drone is an AIRCRAFT it just is piloted remotely.

Drones can be very loud, but then that isn't really called for either.

Yup and I didn't justify any of those things. Did you notice that? I would rather the government be ****ing blind than to give them more eyes to watch me with. I see you don't agree though.

Anyway, I have already said in past threads the government should not have the ability to put things in space or be allowed to use cameras or access them unless on public property. As for planes, I would strip that way from them too if a ban on any surveillance with them didn't work. They should not be watching me without me knowing.

Just curious, why do you think it is ok for police to use helicopters for survellience, but it's not ok to use drones for the same thing?
