A Nevada Republican arrested for voter fraud in the 2012 election, after claiming she was trying to test the system's integrity, pled guilty and accepted a plea deal Thursday, forcing her to pay almost $2,500 and promise to stay out of trouble.
Roxanne Rubin, 56, a casino worker on the Las Vegas Strip, was arrested on Nov. 3, 2012 after trying to vote twice, once at her poling site in Henderson and then at a second site in Las Vegas. The poll workers at the second site said that she had already voted, but Rubin said that she hadn't and insisted on casting a ballot, which the poll workers refused to allow her to do.

Rubin said that she was trying to show how easy it would be to commit voter fraud with just a signature.

so this very intelligent representative here was "trying to show how easy it would be to commit voter fraud" but she failed. Apparently its not so easy..

Its interesting that the poll workers took it upon themselves to stop her from voting when they are supposed to allow anyone to vote via provisional ballot when things don't line up correctly.

On the plus side, Nevada is looking to tighten their existing voting rules by moving to an electronic signature database for voting day.

Looks like she got exactly what she was after.....at the cost of $2,500.

Ahh, Huff Po. I was wondering why anyone considered this news worthy.

Have any information that says anything else about this? Or are you just gonna play "its bias so its false" card?

So...for the record...we accept that voting fraud DOES exist (good reason for voter ID), that they caught this particular person and she pled guilty and was punished (perhaps not as severely as I would like to see happen, but still). Good deal. And since this is obviously something you care about we should see LOTS MORE of you starting threads on these types of incidents including an equal number of democrats committing acts of fraud as well. I cant WAIT.

I questioned it's "newsworthyness" not it's validity.

The only electoral future the GOP has is more and more voter fraud. The demographics have finally shown the end game of their intellectually bankrupt policies of attacking workers, giving tax cuts to the rich, and scapegoating minorities. So all that's left for the GOP is the Rubin strategy -- more and more attempts to commit fraud. It worked in Florida in 2000, but now the nation is on to you.

How's that GOP proposal to end winner take all electoral college votes in Virginia going for ya?

Can't argue the merits. Got it.

Well, my first reaction was that she was some type of official or held an elected office. When I found it it was just some noname casino worker, I was left wondering why it was even reported at the national level. And doubt it would be, short of politics.

Not sure what you consider national news, but the escapades of a 50 year old casino worker isn't usually what I think of

Give her a break. She's just engaging in a republican tradition

After all, the RNC is the only party in the US that operates under a court order to prevent electoral fraud.

Wouldn't know nor care...I am a registered libertarian, vote independent, and havent voted for a major party candidate since 2003. Now...since you found it interesting and appropriate to comment on a thread about voter fraud...surely you CARE about it and not JUST fraud committed by one group of folks...right? I mean...if you didnt care about fraud committed by people you agree with...that would...well...that would speak VOLUMES about you....

Feel free to post about any relevant cases of voter fraud committed by dems by starting a new thread.

This fits in with a pattern of GOP voter fraud. Perhaps you forgot how the major voter registration firm for the GOP in the last electin (owned by a crony of Romney) was indicted for voter fraud. Then there were the attemps after attempt by the GOP to prevent poor people from voting by shorting time and mismanaging polling areas so that people had to wait in liine for hours to vote. Then there was the 2000 Jeb/Harris Voter Purge in Florida.

It's a pattern. And it's obvious that the GOP are engaging in it because the demographics doom them to lose fair elections in the future.

Libertarians are just conservatives that don't want their servants to have indoor plumbing, so I make no distinction between the two.

It was Obama that got 100% of the vote in 59 precincts. I would say that election fraud is alive and well among the Libbos.

No, I completely understand why voter fraud at a large scale would be reported nationally. What I don't get is why an incompetent casino worker is getting the same treatment

AH! So you ONLY care about voter fraud when it is Republicans. I am...SO not surprised!

Voter fraud is a terrible thing...doesnt matter who perpetrates it. From falsification of voter roles to buying votes, to casting fraudulent ballots. IT should all be rigorously investigated and prosecuted. All of it. Those that only seek to make it an issue when it is 'the other guys'...well...

And what do you call mindless ideologue driven democrats?

I did. Beyond "lol @ the retard" it doesn't seem to add much to that discussion

To be fair, there is a check and balance program here. Republicans bring up threads of Dems doing wrong and Dems bring up threads of Republicans doing wrong.

That is just the way it is. But since you are bucking against this system please shows us previous posts you have made chastising Republicans for not starting threads of Republicans doing wrong.

You will find pretty much EVERY post I have ever made consistent on this. ANYONE that gets caught with voter fraud should fry. Hell...Ive even posted threads with links to republicans committing election fraud. You really care...be my guest and do a little digging. Im sure your search engine works fine and I frankly am not even a little invested proving anything to you. But again...be my guest...I have no doubt what you will find.
