Limbaugh: It’s Up To Me And Fox News To Stop Amnesty

Limbaugh: It's Up To Me And Fox News To Stop Amnesty | TPM LiveWire

I'm not sure what's funnier, Rush's bloated opinion as to his own importance, or his reliance on a network that professes to be "fair and balanced" on all issues..

Thanks for the giggles Rush.

rush doesn't have the freedom to oppose amnesty unless he's been cleared to do so by his employer. If he opposes amnesty on the airwaves, he'll be fired for insubordination.

Only way he can talk like that is if he has is own TV/radio network.

So, how's that boycott working out?

You own the fail.. its a joke that Rush made since of course Obama made Rush his boogieman...

Obama is such a loser.. what a disgrace Obama is... he is truly a petulant spoiled child.. like most libs..

Poor Travis. He's stuck inside his right wing radio.

I'm quite sure that Rush has been authorized by his employer--and that damn pesky 1st Amendment--to speak out against anything that he chooses. ;)

I can see that you put a great deal of thought into your response. That is actually better than most of your drivel.

Now, now, don't fight with the other Liberals.

The road to amnesty should be filled with bullets.

If those like you attempt a roadblock, there may well be some bullets involved, unfortunately.

Now, now, don't fight with the other Liberals.

I don't blame you for not wanting libertarians labeled as right wing whack jobs. Your club is rather exclusive. But liberal they are not..

I can't tell if this is sarcastic or not, but assuming it is, I'm not surprised. You have more in common with Rush than I initially gave you credit for. Typically liberals are welcoming to immigrants-- one of their redeeming qualities. But to see you take sides with that anti-immigrant bigot Canadian Joe is very revealing. Not only are you a mushy-headed communist, you're also a proponent of bigotted anti-immigration policies. Worst of both worlds!

You need to read more of Guy's posts...LOL!!

Yeah, I've been trying to tell him that. No getting through to him.

For anybody who is wondering, libertarians are as a rule socially liberal, fiscally conservative.

Well, I've yet to see you take a Right Wing stand on anything. That's why I urge Topcat to read your posts, if he think's you're a, "Right Wing whack job"...LOL!!!

If you haven't seen me take a right wing stand on anything then you must not have read my posts in any threads regarding fiscal issues, or you are simply very unobservant.

No one is going to stop amnesty. The question is merely: How tough is the path?
Is "amnesty" going to be the new buzzword this year replacing "compromise". If a Republican utters that word you are immediately labeled a communist appeaser?

Yep! I musta missed those! :)

The 1st amendment is irrelevant. Employees can still be fired for insubordination, and rush is no exception.

His point was that the GOP will fold on this issue.

The GOP power elite strongly supports amnesty and all measures allowing undocumented immigrants to remain in the US without granting them legal status under US law.

However, the GOP voting bloc--consisting mostly of poor, bigoted White people--oppose amnesty and hate all undocumented individuals.

So GOP pols have a delicate balancing act on their plate--they have to meet the demands of their corporate/PAC sponsors who want undocumented workers to stay in the US (so they can exploit them) all the while creating the impression to their bigoted voting bloc that they hate "illegals" just as much as they do and want them out.

If we liberals are smart, we just have to find a way to exploit this political predicament to our advantage :)

I wasn't taking sides. I was simply calling you out for telling a Canadian guy to **** off. As if somehow that reaction took a great deal of thought on your part.

And don't forget typically vote with the cons.

rush has an agreement w/Clear Channel's Premier Radio Networks, and he has to abide by the terms of that contract.

Spewing anti-immigration rhetoric on the air could violate the terms of his contract, and if it does, then Clear Channel can oust him.
