Rand Paul Calls Benghazi "Worst Tragedy Since 9/11"

Clinton said otherwise. Now, which would know better?

But keep dancing. I love how tea partiers have to run from the consequences of their crank philosophy.

Here's a concept: if you want better embassy security, PAY FOR IT!
Here's a concept... if you want to try to pass off thoroughly debunked talking points as if they still have some merit, try doing it in a different forum. Most people here are educated and informed. Not everyone... yourself and a few others come to mind, but as a general rule *most* are.

Now, back on ignore you go.

I have wondered if what Paul intended to say was that this was the worst incident on 9-11 since 9-11.

If he did it would be just as stupid.

Hillary Clinton allowed the security lapse in Benghazi, and the subsequent deaths that followed as a result, because she had no incentive to care about them.

Neither Congress nor the Executive branch cares about ambassadors, troops, etc. Their primary allegiance is to lobbyists.

Rand Paul would have to work hard to work up to the level of a hemorrhoid on the body politic.

I'm willing to let the obvious grab for attention and popularity slide. Clinton's grin was quite on the money though. "If I was President..."

And lobbyists promote who's agenda?

*drum roll*

Everyone and anyone's. It's a little hard for lobbyists to do their job if they aren't in some respect trying to represent the group they are tasked with defending and/or advancing, which could even be for Veterans.

I know there is a bit of cache with promoting the notion that everything related to power is bad and that democracy is good..leaders should listen to the people, etc etc...but it would be nice if some more thought is put into statements like these, so you could realize that you're essentially attacking that which you ought to want.

Add to this the fact that under Bush, a number of embassies were attacked, more than under Obama. No kangaroo court hearings on those attacks, however.

Rand Paul needs to learn that acting like an asshole trying to exploit a tragedy to score political points instead of trying to learn how to avoid such tragedies in the future is not going to work. I did laugh out loud at the "if I had been president" line. He is getting a little big for his britches.

Republicans could have had the big score they wanted if they had focused on the mistakes made. Instead they went the asshole route and let Clinton come out looking professional.

And the conspiracy carp is retarded.

Which conspiracy crap would that be? You must mean all those retarded excuses brought up by the left over all that Pertains to Benghazi and to 2 other events in correlation with the Issue. Despite those two other issues running their own course and being ignored by the MS Media...... well, as much as they can anyways.

No Clinton didn't say otherwise.....as she was totally mute on that specific. It was Joe Biden.....which is why you don't know what you are talking about. While looking for any deflection you can to get put out there.....as evidenced.

Vice President Joe Biden said Ryan is in no position to argue about diplomatic security, arguing that Ryan, in Congress, didn't provide all the embassy security funding that the Obama administration asked for. Biden also contended that the administration knew of no requests for more security at the Benghazi mission.

Statements:

Biden: "We weren't told they wanted more security. We did not know they wanted more security."

Ryan: "There were requests for extra security. Those requests were not honored."

The facts:

On Wednesday, the State Department's former point man on security in Libya told the House Oversight Committee that he asked for additional security help for the Benghazi facility months before the attack, but was denied.

Various communications dating back a year asked for three to five diplomatic security agents, according to testimony at Wednesday's hearing. But Eric Nordstrom, the one-time regional security officer, said he verbally asked for 12 agents.

The request for 12 agents was rebuffed by the regional director of the State Department's Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs, Nordstrom testified.

Conclusion: The GOP-led House did initially approve about $330 million less than what the administration requested, but in the final bill, passed with bipartisan support after adjustments by the Senate, put the amount a little closer to the administration's target.

CNN Fact Check: What about the security in Benghazi? - CNN.com

I know it is difficult for the Left and that Democratic Underground to follow the History of facts. But do you think that Verbal Request just days before the attack can be got around? I doubt so very much.

Btw Next time Loudmouth Joe wants to step up to the Plate. Tell him to put on his Glasses.....the tri-focal ones. As he needs all the help he can get when trying to play Johnny Nash.....and singing that song about. I can see clearly now. :lamo

Rand Paul To Clinton: Benghazi ‘Worst Tragedy Since 9/11′ — I Would Have Fired You | The New Civil Rights Movement

Okay regardless of what your party affiliation is, we all know that this guy is full of ****. I guess he overlook the hot topic about some shooting that occurred in CT. What was that story about again???

This guy is slim.

I find it ironic that this thread is currently parked next to a thread entitled "rand-paul-tells-christie-stop-his-temper-tantrums-and-grandstanding"

Or better titled: "Rand Paul to Christie: Do what i say, not what I do.."

A lot of things were worse.

Katrina?
Joplin?
Sandy Hook?
Aurora, Colorado?
Lindsey Lohan's Face/Career?

Yeah.....Obama being Elected was the Major one!

He's absolutely right

They were repeated warnings that were ignored. The Security at the consulate was basically disarmed and outsourced. Stevens was the first ambassador killed in 30 years.

CT was a completely different animal. Paul is speaking of National Security, Politics, Foreign Policy. ect.

Rand Paul 2016

Greatest tragedy since 9/11 how about when

BALANDI, Afghanistan (AP) — Moving from house to house, a U.S. Army sergeant opened fire Sunday on Afghan villagers as they slept, killing 16 people — mostly women and children — in an attack that reignited fury at the U.S. presence following a wave of deadly protests over Americans burning Qurans.

What do you think was that a tragedy of significance? How about when President Bush ordered the invasion of Iraq?

Tough questions should have been asked and were his inference as to what he would do if he were President "not likely" was not a question it was a political attack on the current administration.

The amount of spin here is laughable. Arrogantly dismissing his assessment of the situation might work for the Jon Stewart crowd, but the fact is we were lied to for weeks following this attack and still are being lied to. This was a huge failing on the part of the state department. Claiming that nobody knew was complete BS. Somebody had to tell those Marines to stand down. And attacking his claim about "worst since 9/11" by going back to CT is a transparent political dodge, especially when coupled with the earlier warnings we heard about later and the other attacks on US assets on the same day. On top of that we find out about delivering tanks and planes to Egypt and the Muslim Brotherhood leaders, it all stinks. If the smirks and smears allow you to dismiss the miserable failings of this administration keep in mind that they will continue to lie and laugh at YOU too when your taxes go up again and whatever they decide to do next to further an agenda that has nothing to do with the wellbeing of the American people. We need more of this kind of dressing down by those who are not afraid of Chicago style politics.

This (coupled with the other attacks on that day) could be argued to be the worst TERRORIST attack since 9/11 (even though they would still have their useful idiots believe it was about a tape). CT was a mentally unstable kid who killed a bunch of kids. Tragic, but it wasn't terrorism. And even in the face of that, the administration used it to further an agenda and try to bastardize the Constitution AGAIN with changes that would not have prevented it. You people who are buy or defending this crap are are either blind, stupid, or just as driven and cold as the powers that be.

Do you feel better now?

"OH" and were you looking for some bread crumbs too, Edgar?

I'm just glad you haven't started posting crappy rap videos or Pimp My Ride episodes.

If he did it would be just as stupid.

Kinda like with those 23 Muslims Countries Rioting all at the same time over a faux outrage that 90 % of them didn't even know about. Just as stupid.....Huh?

Thinking out loud: I wonder if the same posters who are so aggressive with Clinton were as aggressive with Bush and his cluster**** of a foreign policy.

Yeah many spoke out on Bush and his spending and creating the Dept of Homeland Security.....still it does not change the fact about Team Obama and their Complete Incompetence and failure to Understand the World with 90% of Foreign Affairs. Must come from not having any real leaders in the first place. Perhaps that is where one can start.....This Time Around!
