Yes, Kentucky. The place all the rest of us look to for political guidance.

Politically, they should be laughed at. Not as funny as...say...Mississippi or Alabama, but pretty damned amusing. Rand Paul and Mitch McConnell. Wow.

I don't look to states for "political guidance".

Ok, here's toilet for Sen. Paul. I found it, by luck of the draw at Home Depot. In renovating my daughter's bathroom, I came across it. It was aesthetically pleasing and since I have elderly family members visit, the additional height could be helpful. Wow! After a few uses, the household was impressed. So when the one in the family bathroom needed repaired, I got rid of it and got another one. I was raving about it to a visiting family member so she had to go see what was the big deal. She too came out impressed and said, "I thought you were nuts to get excited about a toilet, but I see what you mean".

Well if you did, Kentucky would be right down there near the bottom. Although they did give us Davy Crockett.

You miss the entire point of his "toilet rant". His point is the overbearing energy policies that restrict the "free" market in our country. I wouldn't expect you to get that though. It's hard to understand what he's saying when you agree with said policies. Agreeing with those policies is fine. That's you prerogative to do so. But demonizing someone else for not believing as you do is wrong. Yet, you do it all the time.
A good example of someone on the left using a similarly "deranged" argument to prove a point is Rep Hank Johnson (D-GA) when he made his famous "Guam will capsize" point during a session about stationing 8,000 Marines on Guam. His argument about Guam "capsizing" was in fact a reference to their way of life, economy, etc. He made sound like he was speaking of the island literally capsizing. Most on the right did as you are doing. They made him sound like some sort of nut that wasn't fit for public service. I took it as a guy making a point in a creative way.

After spending a moment or two trying to determine how much effort i should put in rebutting this sort of stupidity, I realized I had already wasted too much effort. Some people just cant be reasoned with and every moment expended in thrying to reach such people is a moment you will never get back.

Yeah, regulation is such a stupid topic. I mean what crazy modern economy would regulate commerce and consumer goods!

This is why nobody take conservatism seriously.
