Her rebuttal on the light bulb argument was just stupid. He doesn't just want lighting, he wants the lighting he desires. This isn't that hard to understand.

And clearly the entire point of the examples he listed are to restrict choice. Let's not be stupid.
And when the electrical grid gets over loaded and brown outs occur or blackouts because everyone is using inefficient electrical devices where is he going to get his lighting then?

Believe it or not it is an interdependent system.

If people wish to use inefficient electrical devices they should be free to do that and others should be free to try to convince them to do otherwise in a respectful manner. If they don't accept their arguments or happen to have some use for these devices that other technologies can't provide than they should be free to continue to make that choice. It matters not to me and this drama about how it means horrible things for the grid is just that, drama.

If a completely dogmatic idiot like Rand Paul is attacking Christie, that only strengthens his potential candidacy as far as I'm concerned.

No, it's not. Putting products on the market the needlessly waste water is. You don't have the right to buy a lot of things that harm others. Grow up and get used to it.

This is where I have to agree with winston53660. Look at it in much that same way as local zoning laws. At there basic level, the reason behind them is "uniformity". The most extreme example I can give are gated communities or townhome co-ops where everyone has to conform to the same rules on lawn & gardening and exterior home decor.

There are reasons certain items must conform to certain industrial stadards. Consider if you will why few, if any, Americans can install 220v outlets in their homes. The answer is very simple: Because nearly every home and commerical property works on 120v electricity.

Then they should expect to pay a higher premium on their home/property insurance because such idiots are sure to cause a fire and possible burn their house down possibly causing harm to themselves and others. It is really worth it to possibly lose your property can maybe your very life, as well as others, just because you wish to be the Burger King and have it your way?

Wrong. Liberty would be having the choice.

Btw, the first thing I do when I get a new shower head is to drill out the low flow BS. My toilet I picked up on auction and is from the 50s (my junk doesn't get wet when I sit down on the thing). Guess what, my water usage is half of what any of my neighbors use.

I agree with that, and Christie has really grown into his office since Hurricane Sandy. I still don't like him, but at least he has shown himself to be a good public servant when it counted. Paul would have told his constituencies, that if he can't help them in an emergency, but he will fight for water wasting toilets for every home destroyed by one.

As to Paul's attack againt Christie's alleged "rant", that's like having Mel Gibson give anger management advice to Tom Bosley on Happy Days.

BS, I want to have light too. And if Rand Paul's selfish idealogical buffoonery causes my lights, my AC or what ever to go out the onus is on him.
