You gotta be friggin kidding me. Really? They are really that crass?

The White House today released letters from little kids pleading for gun control, just hours before President Obama is to release a comprehensive proposal to limit guns and ammunition. The letters were released to the Associated Press in what appears to be a coordinated effort to help shape the narrative the day of Obama's announcement....

White House spokesman Jay Carney announced yesterday that Obama will be surrounded by little kids when he announces his gun proposal later today.

Eleven-year-old Julia, who lives in the District of Columbia and dotted the "I'' in her name with a heart, wrote that she has four brothers and sisters and "I know I would not be able to bear the thought of losing any of them." She said it should be "very hard" for people to buy guns and closed by acknowledging that Obama can't do it alone.

"I know that laws have to be passed by Congress but I beg you to try very hard to make guns not allowed. Not just for me, but for the whole United States," Julia wrote, signing the letter with "my love and regrets." She will also be at the White House on Wednesday.

 Yup. They really are.

Classic..

This crap is so blatant and over the top it's the kind of thing you'd expect to see on the Simpsons. "Won't Somebody think of the CHILdrun!"

An 11 yr. old knows it's gonna be Congress' fault? Bet y'all a dollar the parent is so proud of that pawn, err, child.

The article claims "She said it should be "very hard" for people to buy guns and closed by acknowledging that Obama can't do it alone."

But she says, "I beg you to try very hard to make guns not allowed. Not just for me, but for the whole United States"

I realize this is supposedly from an 8 year old, but how is that not asking for an outright ban?.

None of these little kids are the least bit concerned that they now owe over $30K as their "fair share" of our national debt. As long as Obama and the MSM can keep the conversation off of that "trivial" subject, and on the need for more federal gov't spending and power, then they are doing us all such a fine service. The Obama economic plan for reducing the federal deficit - deflect, deny, and divert our attention to other, much more important, "crisis" matters. We would not be in such debt if we had more gun control, more green energy subsidies, more UI extensions, more SNAP spending, more education spending, more mental health care spending and more immigration reform!

It's almost bording on insulting. I mean really Obama, REALLY???????????????

11 year olds barely eat their lunch when at school, and when you ask them how their day went they tell you "ah it was ok", and when you ask them what they learned they say things like "I don't remember", but yet we are expected to believe this nonesense came from children concerned when they have absolutely no posible way of understanding the ramifications of their notions.. JOKE, and a pathertic one at that.

Tim-

Just ridiculous.

It is insulting and it is transparent. But it is this sort of propaganda the left uses. Perhaps it's time for conservatives to use the same emotional appeals, turned back on the left. "Look, here's a news story of a 12 year old girl that shot an intruder in her house. Why do you want the little girl to get raped and die?"

I've already seen a lot of these floating around this morning due to the plans to use the children...

love reading all the objections

by the faux news watchers whose collective political IQ is substantially lower than that of the kids who sent the letters

as if a youngster can't have a sound opinion because they are young while an adult's opinion must be found legitimate only because they are older

the reich wing is pissed
they have no where to hide on the gun issue
they want instead to tell us how awful bats and guns are
they see Gabby has become the face of the gun control advocacy and have no counter to her
and they know that restrictions are coming and they can do nothing to stop them

How dare those children write such things!!!!!! And how dare anyone inform the American people that they did so!!!!!!! :doh:shock::roll:

News flash:

Children also want more dessert, later bedtimes, bigger allowances, and every toy they see on the shelves. Oh, and a pony. I guess the White House should take up all of that, too.

what does that have to do with gun control?

nothing. probably why the white house did not include it

This is really sick...

The President is committed to putting children into defenseless situations - and committed that everyone knows the children are taken from their parents and deliberately exposed defenselessly to armed assault - and parades out children so psychotics can see the type of target he is offering to them.

Very sick. But then there are alot of mentally sick people in this country who want to hurt children. Obama and most other politicians want them to assure them how easy it is to do so.

Why does the President need to put these children in front of the TV, to sell his plan?

because they have a legitimate perspective to offer

if you will recall, it was a score of their own cohort who died recently at the hands of a gun weilder

reich wing whine because Obama brought something to the debate which helps make his case

Even before such pictures as those, there are people including teens in high school that have T-shirts with Obama's picture on one side and Hitler's picture on the other.

Alright, if we're interested in adding legitimate perspectives, then why not them all?
Why choose, just children who happen to support his position?

Adults died as well.

The children seem to run the majority of American homes these days instead of their parents, so why not let them run the White House and Congress as well? Right?

you are on a frigging debate site
figure it out
we all trot out the facts and figure and perspectives that are going to help us make our position stronger
why would you expect Obama to offer cites that undermine the position he is advocating
that would be stupid and contrary to purpose
and only stupid people would expect such response

So you admit, that it's really not about the kids perspective, but that he's merely hamming it up.
So that he can get more support.

So with all that, should we draft laws, using the opinions of children, rather than logical thought, measured effect or some other way that would make things work better?
