Congressional Offices Continue to Illegally Download Movies and TV Shows

In late October, someone at the U.S. House of Representatives decided to catch up on the latest season of Dexter, illegally downloading an episode of the TV series while at a congressional office. In the days that followed, with Hurricane Sandy threatening to keep federal workers hunkered down at home, employees of Congress downloaded the 2012 mob film Lawless, a Halloween-themed episode of The Middle, and an episode from Season 9 of CSI: New York.
Yes, the same people who are attempting to pass bills that would provide stiff penalties for those who illegally download material, happen to be doing exactly that - Illegally downloading material.

No wonder Congress is so unpopular. They are a bunch of hypocrites, Democrats and Republicans alike - Which gives me an idea. Congress should now pass a bill providing an automatic 5 year prison sentence to anybody who is a member of Congress. LOL.

    Article is here.

Reminder. The House is the Republican party.

They've been doing this forever. As little as a decade ago it was still being reported that the largest software pirates in the world was the US government.

I'd love to cut one out of the herd and apply the law fully and without quarter. Like the IRS does with celebs. Pick one and go after them full force and fully public, the rest are more forthcoming with their taxes after that. Grill one congress critter and rest will think twice about buying the RIAA's nonsense in the future.

Reminder, the House is called the People's House. You're saying the People's House is republican? Interesting from a fellow with your particular bent.

Didn't think that one through, did ya?

And the Senate is the Democrats. So what? Doesn't matter what party they are members of, does it? A hypocrite is a hypocrite, and those who only point the finger at the other side are hypocrite enablers. Want to see one of those? Just look in a mirror.

When I worked on the Hill, it was "Congressional staffs still looking at porn" or something along those lines. When you have a bunch of college kids interning or 20 somethings answering telephones with access to computers, they do what they do online. Unrealistic to expect otherwise. These are nothing more than filler stories.

Try to make the behaviors of our owners into partisanship is a big fail as far as I'm concerned.

The reason people enter politics is to become rich and powerful and above the law in most cases. They pay themselves well, get lifelong benefits and even have their own health care system. We are just peasants to them regardless of which party they perform their show for.

No doubt, the hyper-partisans will only see bad conduct in the opposition but I assure you that this is universal.

There is one flaw with what you posted. You assume that they are our owners. It's the other way around.
