Below is a link to a video which is purportedly of one of the defendants in the Steubenville Ohio rape case regarding an "incident" that happened this past August.

I don't really have words for this but I have to question what could have happened in this country for ANY of our youth to be this utterly devoid of compassion for their fellow human being. It makes me wonder if we may have crossed some kind of threshold where morality has been completely reconciled to some intellectual exercise.

The video in the link was apparently released by Anonymous, a group that I have great contempt for but this time it looks like they may have actually done something right.

Steubenville rape case News, Video and Gossip - Deadspin

Fair warning, although the video doesn't contain any nudity it may well be the most profane thing I have ever heard.

I didn't even go to the link Luther... to be honest I didn't want to hear it. Lemme 'splain why...

Many many moons ago, when I was a cop, we had a rape/murder case in my county. What happened in brief was this: four teenage boys took a young teenage girl out to party with them. They all raped her, then one of them stabbed her repeatedly with a large knife. She didn't die quickly; one of the perps in his statement talked about how she cried, and begged them not to kill her, and how the one who did the killing just laughed and kept stabbing her, making sexual innuendos about the stabbing.

In jail, most of them acted like they were big shots, movie stars or celebrities, and like the whole thing was a big joke. On the way to their trial, they didn't try to hide their faces... oh no, two of them actually made faces at the cameras and laughed about it.

I realized then that there are human beings who have no moral qualms or conscience whatsoever, who revel in evil and care nothing about their fellow man... and that there are more of them out there than most people realize.

There are things I learned in my LE days that still give me nightmares, and sometimes I regret that "what has been seen, cannot be un-seen".

And people wonder why I decline to depend on the benevolence of my fellow man.

Goshin, it's stories like that which make up the other half of the reason I didn't stay in the LE field after the service. If I had gone that route I would be in jail today.

Re: The desensitizing of Americas youth

Sick ****. On the one hand I see that maybe there's something in modern society that produces bipedal excrement like this, on the other it's this modern society that made it possible for this sick psyche to become public and (I imagine) guarantee social estrangement whether he is found to be legally guilty of something or not.

Re: The desensitizing of Americas youth

People feel entitled to whatever they want from whomever they want to take it and damned be the consequences. Just look at it in the attitude of people who post around here. It is symptomatic of a no-personal responsibility whatsoever culture from these punks, to baseball moms, to crack addicts, to Wall Street egregiousness.

Lord of The Flies gone wild. A completely, totally sociopathic young man who, I hope, gets locked up for twenty years minimum. He and his partner in crime have completely destroyed three families. **** him.

Most people have no comprehension of how evil men can be, who go beyond immoral and even beyond amoral, to finding the greatest pleasure in causing horror, torment and suffering to others to unlimited degrees. While people can read those words and say they understand, they can not really grasp the reality of it - and all think they are immune from it. Or how many there are of such attitudes. If people did know, they would all be armed and many likely afraid to go outside.

They can not be reformed. Imprisonment them makes the predators in prison. Often on the forum I have stated that I believe in the death penalty, but not necessarily for murder. A murder can be a momentary crazy thing, a panic or drug thing in a robbery or under extreme stress. Rather, the death penalty should be for sadistic violence for the sake of causing horror, suffering and pain at extreme levels.

Those are mad dogs and should be put down like all rabid animals should. There is no justice it putting them in prison where they are fed, houses, entertained and assured all things of life with no labor in return for which then they are terrify other inmates, and steal the labor via taxes for which many families are paying taxes essential singularly to house that person.

From that video alone, that young man should be taken to the gallows and hung - in public - and then he will harm no one else again and the young woman will never wake in a nightmare thinking somehow he got out of prison and is coming after her again. Kill him and no one need fear him again, nor could he harm anyone again.

You didn't miss anything, Goshin. I watched nearly two minutes. Buncha high school boys laughing their asses off as the vid "star" plays to the camera. They don't even see the girl as a human being. Total disconnect from humanity.

Re: The desensitizing of Americas youth

My friend posted this on facebook and we came to the conlcusion that if any one of us were there when this "kid" was making these jokes then we would just drop kick him. Seriously, this "kid" is a disgrace.

Re: The desensitizing of Americas youth

I believe the man in the video was a witness to the crime, and did not participate. This means that he could be indicted as accessory, but not for the rape itself. Two star football players committed the rape. The victim broke up with one of the rapists about a month before the crime, and the suspect allegedly said "She will pay" kind of stuff to friends and what not.

Anyways, this should be a slam dunk case. It's all on video/photos, all over the internet. They were posting stuff on Twitter as they were doing it. Just take all that stuff, play the teenagers against each other by threatening charging them for accessory, and it's case closed.

Unfortunately, this bum**** town is a big football town, and these kids are stars. I read that shortly after the complaint was filed, the sherriff met with the father of the suspect as well as a wealthy Steubenville resident and the charges were dropped the next day. I don't know if that's true, but the way this was handled prior fits this MO. It took a blogger calling out the blatant rape that took place, and taking screenshots of these little ****s' twitters/instagrams/facebooks and posting them online before the police even arrested them. Prior to that nobody believed the girl and claimed she was just looking for attention. The entire town called her a liar and let the rapists roam free. I'm sure this video was taken shortly after, when these scumbags were riding a wave of illegitimate immunity.

I hope they rot in jail but based on how the city has handled it I doubt it will happen.

Guys like that can't be reasoned with. The only acceptable answer is for a bigger, badder gang of boys to beat the holy hell out of them all. I mean just knock them broken and bloody. That's the only thing they'll understand.

my heart breaks for her and i feel like ill lose some of my soul by giving them the satisfation of viewing it..

if that were my daughter id happily go to jail for what i do to them and their families for raising such subhumans. if they lived near me, i cant honestly say that i wouldnt do something anyway, regardless of who's daughter it is...

If it was my daughter, there isn't enough gun legislation in the world that would keep those punks still breathing God's fresh air.

Regrettably, that's an old story that repeats itself all to often, and it is sick and unbelieveable that anyone would put "star athletes" above a rape victim.

Not watching the video, either.

But societies have always had a fair share of nutters, psychos and the morally corrupt. This is nothing new. So that in itself - that there are people out there like these teens - no, that's not shocking to me.

That's the mind of a depraved individual - and that inner monster doesn't seem to be affected by the changing times. It's always been just as boarish.

Y'know, between the way the Sandusky affair was handled and now this....

...hell, I suppose that it's happened before and it's happened all over. I'd like to think that SOMEBODY who was involved would have come forward. I mean, what kind of parent just takes their teenage kids word at face value? What kind of cop just blows off the investigation?

I understand that nobody wants to be Mike Nifong but in a case like this there MUST have been ample evidence and it would only be common sense to look into the kids social media connections.

One of the rape suspect's mothers IIRC said that "u gt to let a whore b a whore LMAO."

Re: The desensitizing of Americas youth

Two football players chanced on an extremely drunk 19-year old and made her their personal "sex toy" for the night, dragging her to three different parties. Of equal concern are those who thought this was "funny" or "okay." Here is one picture (the victim is fully clothed): http://prinniefied.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/08_phot0.png

Slate has solid info and links and comments:

As some initial gleeful Twitter responses from students to the alleged rape demonstrate, one reason rape continues is that communities not only don't hold perpetrators responsible, but close ranks to defend or even celebrate them. By stepping in and holding people accountable, Anonymous stands a very good chance of taking action that actually does something to stop rape. But: This type of online vigilante justice is potentially invading the privacy of or defaming innocent Steubenville residents, and even if everything published is true, there are very serious legal limits to the Anonymous strategy. Not all of the leaked allegations are attached to Twitter or YouTube accounts—many of the most serious cover-up claims, which we won't reprint here, are at this point only rumor. The allegations will infuriate you, but they don't rise to the level of real evidence that can be used to truly hold responsible those who participate in sex crimes.

Steubenville, Ohio rape: Anonymous gets involved, and the case gets even more complicated.

Re: The desensitizing of Americas youth

What is really disturbing about this case, aside from the fact that not one person tried to help that girl, is that the town is being held hostage by their obsession with football. The sheriff, who reportedly has breakfast with the football coach regularly, had trouble finding witnesses because of their fear of reprisal. The coach, a mediator in the juvenile court, doesn't believe they did anything wrong despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. The entire Jefferson County prosecutor's office had to recuse itself due to conflicts of interest as did the judge. The whole thing is outrageous.

Re: The desensitizing of Americas youth

In 2010, an eleven year old girl was gang raped by 20 men. The depths of human depravity knows no end. Justice could be served in this case simply by putting these animals in prison with the general population. Rapists tend to get what they deserve in prison if they are not protected from it.

Defendant in gang rape of 11-year-old Cleveland girl gets life in prison | khou.com Houston

If it were my daughter, justice would be served by me, if there were any way possible. I get so tired of the scum, and the problem is they won't likely get any punishment which fits the crime, and will be doing the same **** again.
