If it costs money to acquire said ID, and that ID is required to vote, it is a poll tax.
I'm already gearing up for Finger Vote 2014.

Just for reference, means my post was a giant steaming pile of sarcasm.

You don't live here. Every registered voters ID or drivers licence has their registration info. That is why they can contact us at any time via phone etc.

So if someone is to stupid take advantage of something that is so simple and right in front of their faces. Do you honestly think any technology will make a difference?

    You have no argument.

I obviously do, because in a state where the last couple of Presidential elections came down to less than 100,000 votes, half that number went home because the lines were too long.

You want to make it out like it's a stupidity thing, but I don't think it is. I often get so busy that I have no time during the day to run errands or eat lunch, and I often end up forgetting to do important personal things day after day after day. If the polling places around here weren't open until 9pm and the lines weren't short enough to suit my schedule, I'd give up on them too, and chances are pretty good that I'd forget to mail in a ballot.

I'm not an idiot, I'm just frayed.

What a crock. They would stand in a far longer line for a rock concert with no complaints.

Or, the people who would in fact do so are the ones who voted, whereas these folks actually had places to be.

No you don't live in Florida. Otherwise you would know how easy it is and how often they contact you to vote absentee etc.

Yes down here it is about nothing but stupidity. You have no idea. I have never seen a more self absorbed group of assholes from all walks of life than I do in Florida.

For example... In Metropolitan Chicago I and my wife commuted from the South suburbia to the city for our jobs. In the morning we would turn on the radio for weather and traffic just in case of an accident. We don't commute here because you don't turn on the radio to see if an accident may have occurred... You tune in to hear how many. On a clear sunny day you can have anywhere from 3 to 8 accidents within 2 to 3 hours. That is only one stretch of highway, just one.

I don't think your an idiot, and I understand why you are frayed. It however does not change the fact that to many of these people are to stupid to be allowed to vote, lol. J/K Seriously, the state and private sector go above and beyond to get these people to vote early or absentee. So any excuse is just that, an excuse.

I had to be at work and I voted. Employers are supposed to give their workers 2 hours to vote on election day. But I didn't ask for the 2 hours. I just left home an hour early. "Places to be"....LOL. OMFG we ALL have places to be. SOME of us plan around it and make time to vote.

I voted absentee a couple of times when I was traveling. If they can't get to the polls, a little advance planning gives them this option too.

Florida has early voting, not interested in the rest of the story.
