Cops: Man fatally shoots himself while showing off new gun's safety

Any idiot can kill himself doing stupid things with a gun.

BUT....

It takes a WHOLE SPECIAL BREED of stupid AND unlucky to manage to kill yourself with a .25 auto! :doh

I mean hell those things are barely fit for shooting mice.

I started to write that just buying a .25 means he's stupid, but then remembered my wife bought a little really compact and solid little 1950s .25 because "its cute." Actually, most compacts used to be smaller (but heavier) than they are now. A .25 isn't much, but its better than nothing. And she is an amazingly skilled shot. And it is sort of a cute little gun at that. Solid nickel with white ivory grips. So small a person wouldn't see it in my hand.

I'll tell you what is ridiculous. Those little Charter Arms single action .22 mini revolvers. Time how long it takes to **** it after shooting the first round - and measure the accuracy at 10 feet with it's -1 inch barrel. Those are absurd. I'd rather just have a brick to throw at the other person.

There is a reason cops and others train with blue plastic guns. To make absolutely certain they all know it isn't a real gun. Cops and others used to often shoot each other training with a real "unloaded" firearm.

Yeah. I knew a guy who made "neck sheath" holsters for those... where they'd be hanging under your shirt upside down, with the barrel pointing at your face. Buddy of mine called it the BITCH holsters... "Bullet In The Chin" you see. :)

I had a Beretta .25 auto once a long time ago, before I realized what a pop gun they were. Back-when it was hard to get anything in a serious caliber that would go in your pocket, thank goodness that's changed.

I don't know about the Charter Arms version of that which you speak, but I have a little NAA 5 shot 22 magnum that is a great little pocket pistol that can be used for extreme closeup self defense. its greatest advantage is that it is ultra-concealable. Now...since I have purchased the Ruger LCP I have retired the NAA 22 magnum, but in a pinch...when I had to have something, I had no problem slipping it into my pocket. If the round didn't stop the bad guy, the report would deafen them. (and keep in mind...most instances of actual USE of a handgun occur at close quarters...much less than 10 feet)

Deon shooting himself in the head is a case of casually applied positive eugenics. His girlfriend is named
LaTeesha.

Another idiot with a gun. Now he's dead. Why do people have hard-ons for weapons where they will pull them out and use them as a conversation piece?

And these are the people they want to guard our children.
