And just what do you know about the child in question to bring you to that conclusion? From what I can tell he went the whole day handling the gun safety. It wasn't until he was told on by two other students that the school found out.

Let's not be too quick to indict all gun owners because these parents were lax. And we don't know the rest of the story yet. I agree, a kid his age shouldn't have access to a gun without meaningful supervision.

    Horrible.

Ashlee Gordon is taking her 7-year-old son home.

"He's my only kid, my only kid, and it's heartbreaking to think he might not come home," she said. "I don't want to have to be at work and worry about my child not coming home before Christmas."

    Which is unconfirmed.

11 years old is certainly old enough to be familiar, and possibly quite proficient, with a .22 pistol or revolver. I get the impression from the article that the kid didn't consult with his parents on his decision and that isn't good but charging the parents with child endangerment based on nothing other than the fact that the kid had a gun in school is ridiculous.

It was a bad decision on the kids part but the logic of it is fine and dandy.

I'm not indicting all gun owners. I'm a gun owner. But I sure as **** know better than to leave it around where a sixth-grader can get his hands on it. I don't have any kids. Don't have many kid visitors. But even when I have strangers in my house (repair people and the like), my gun is out of their reach even if they're LOOKING for it. Really. How stupid can people be?

Kid takes his mothers guns and shoots 26 people. Other families with guns and youngsters in the house don't change a thing in their house. Unbelievable.
The devil whispered in my ear, "You cannot withstand the storm." I whispered back, "I am the storm."
