    In fact....

Between When Bush Took Office and when he left.... over a 8 year span..... We had 10 what are considered "Mass Shootings" totaling in 95 deaths.

In the mere 4 years that Obama has been in Office...... a 4 year span....... We have had 17 "Mass Shootings" totaling in 139 deaths. Including 9 just this year alone.

Im sorry if I sound like a conspiracy nut, but I find it convenient that the gun control party gets in office and mass shootings increase in frequency. ESPECIALLY considering most of the mass shootings that occurred during Bush's presidency occurred after the 2006 mid term elections where the Democrats took the House.

I know.... sound the conspiracy theory nut music.... I think I've gone mad but I can't quite shake this notion.
You forget that nothing was done when those shootings happened under Bush and now it appears they are "catching on". That's always the case with media frenzied storys. Don't think there is not "one upmanship" among the severely disturbed. We are seeing a competition, I'm afraid.

If you don't understand the reason for waiting periods for guns there is no point in argueing. You are past all help.

I disagree. I think that in the effort to eliminate some of the consequences of freedom, that you can indeed cause yourself to inhabit an overall worse off eigenstate.
You know the time is right to take control, we gotta take offense against the status quo

Perhaps if we should ban anything, we should ban the release of names and photos of the perpetrators of these heinous crimes. Surely many are motivated by the desire to feel important and to "leave their mark". Denying their 15 minutes of fame may reduce the desire to commit such crimes. I would argue it would do more than attempting to ban certain tools of destruction.

So the senseless murder of 20 6 year olds is a "consequence of freedom"? You have sick sense of humor.

I said this exact same thing in a different thread the day of the shooting.

Among the truly psychotic out there, there is now a "record" that can be broken. I have no proof of this and am basing it on nothing more than gut instinct but when you look at the way some of these things are being carried out it's hard to argue that the perpetrators weren't thinking in terms of pure numbers of victims. It's becoming a sick and twisted competition, I agree.

I have to disagree about the "nothing was done" part, though. It ties politics into this in a way that only divides people at a time when we need to come together. Columbine was the first real big one that I can remember and that was when Clinton was president. I certainly don't blame him for "doing nothing" and would never suggest that there is something that he could have done to prevent what happened last Friday.

It's not humor. Rather it's an understanding of probabilities and statistics.
