Indian sitar virtuoso Ravi Shankar dies

11:58PM EST December 11. 2012 - Ravi Shankar, the sitar virtuoso who became a hippie musical icon of the 1960s after hobnobbing with the Beatles and who introduced traditional Indian ragas to Western audiences over an eight-decade career, has died. He was 92.
One of the greatest shredders the world has ever known. He will be greatly missed. When I was much younger, I owned a sitar, and thought I could play it.... Well, kinda. But, as I watch this, I am once again humbled. NOTE: One day, I took my sitar to my fiancee's (soon to become my wife) house, and her father played "Home on the Range" on it. LOL.

    RIP Ravi.
