DOJ Documents Show Huge Increase in Warrantless Electronic Surveillance

New Justice Department Documents Show Huge Increase in Warrantless Electronic Surveillance

Justice Department documents released today by the ACLU reveal that federal law enforcement agencies are increasingly monitoring Americans’ electronic communications, and doing so without warrants, sufficient oversight, or meaningful accountability.
If you expect people to be rational, you aren't being rational.

Who is so thanks to the efforts of George W. Bush being the surveillance and drone king before him.
Also, we need to legalize recreational drugs and prostitution.

But Obama could have nixed it or curtailed it and he just expanded it.
    FYI: I detested Bushy.

And the GOP could have put forward a presidential candidate that would put an end to it.

Re: DOJ Documents Show Huge Increase in Warrantless Electronic Surveillance

"Justice Department documents released today by the ACLU reveal that federal law enforcement agencies are increasingly monitoring Americans’ electronic communications, and doing so without warrants, sufficient oversight, or meaningful accountability."

I didn't read all the documents associated with this statement but would suggest that the without sufficient oversight, or meaningful accountability." is a very subjective opinion.

What would be required to fairly oversee these searches, is an unbiased neutral group.

Personally, if they want to monitor all my communications, (including the ones in this forum), they can knock themselves out.

Since it's not possible to find an agency or group that is neutral, I guess the courts will have to do it. But, are the courts neutral?
Language is political. Each of us talks, listens, and thinks in his/her own special language that has been shaped by our culture, experiences, profession, personality, mores and attitudes. The chances of us meeting someone else who talks the exact same language is pretty remote.
