Exactly. Or, donate ALL the money to a local charity, which has been suggested. But the church won't do that.

Because they feel they are entitled.

There's no African charity. It all goes into the general account of the church.

There's another thread on this topic that was started prior to this one. How about we all go over there?

The Constitution prohibits the establishment of a national religion and the idea that allowing a concert in a public high school does just that is too silly to really consider. This isn't about legality, etc. This is about simple hatred and is no real different from the idiots protesting building mosques in NYC.

No, it's about a church using public HS students and HS music director to put on a Xmas concert in a public HS auditorium at no charge and to collect all the proceeds and put them into their church account without any public accounting whatsoever.

BTW - What happened to going to other thread?

I heard no mention in the report that it was another HS (might have missed it). Was it even a public HS (original location)? And did you look at the video? That was no average HS band/orchestra. The instruments alone put it out of the reach of a public HS population.

Ahh, I rewatched it and they used to do it at another HS, but they don't mention if it was public or private. Also they don't mention that the performers themselves are HS students. It looks very much like a professional choir/orchestra. The report mentions this is an annual event and that the church sells the tickets with the proceeds going to charity.

Sounds like they're just using the school as a location for the event. Much as public libraries allow any group to use their facilities when not being used for library purposes.

You're correct. Although, if you're sticking with the comment about those being the HS's instruments - that school has one hell of a music budget. I looked into Farrington and it is indeed a public school, albeit a charter/magnet school specializing in performing arts.

BTW - I don't believe there is any African charity other then a church or evangelical mission owned or partnered with by New Hope. it's just another one of those little white lies christians tell because they think god will forgive them.

Because you know, the end always justifies the means when it comes to religion.
There probably isn't any African charity other then a church or evangelical mission owned or partnered with by one church or another. Does that mean the charity is somehow contaminated?
