Senate passes $631B defense policy bill 98-0

On the east coast, and quite a bit far inland from the coast too, millions of homes are heated by oil burning furnaces.
Thats not what I asked.

I asked:
What % of the electricity used in the US comes from oil-fired plants?

Almost none. Actually, less than 2%. But the point is, if you can convert all the homes that use oil heating to partial solar, that saves us a good portion of oil that can then be refined into gasoline.

That doesn't matter. Any taxes collected will be collected by the seller for the state. So, if I can't buy it in Las Vegas, I won't pay the 8% here but Amazon will still have to collect the 8% and remit to NV. So, yes, the states DO benefit. Personally, I love NOT paying taxes but the fact is these are STATE taxes - not FEDERAL taxes.

Unless the local business doesn't stock the goods being sought, then no one benefits. Awesome plan!!
