    NYPD Officer Photographed

This isn't what you thought it was in our day of ridiculous fear mongering and general negative spin given to us by our news sources. Personally, this story immediately brought tears to my eyes. This is one of the kindest acts I've ever seen.

These are the guys that get lost in all the reports of corrupt cops. I'm glad this officer's story has been told so that people who've lost faith in the police know that there are good ones out there.

Thanks for posting that marine...Police officers give more than the public could ever imagine...clothing, money and in large sums...there were constantly collections in the precinct for people we knew were hurting badly in the community and cops would go to business's and ask for their help for people.....I cant tell you how many cold nights I sent my guy s out to scour the homeless villages and take them to shelters and at times to lock them up for a night to keep them from freezing....to us its nothing special its what weve always done....theres good and yes theres sometimes bad

Thank you for your service. As a Marine, I appreciate the dedication required to be a police officer.

Thanks for posting this, Marine. It is important that police malfeasance is publicized due to their positions of power. And the internet has certainly highlighted just how common it can be.

But that said, it is also important that we applaud those that do go above and beyond and those that do live by the ethos “To Serve and Protect”.

Officer DePrimo is a good man. He is also young. It takes a special kind of person to do that job for many years and not become jaded. I hope he is one of those special ones. I don’t think I could do it.

Saw that earlier today. Talk about going above and beyond the call, true public servant.

Completely different, the officer used his own funds in a charitable act. Perfectly in line with libertarian philosophy and he performed a good deed. Nothing more to say.
