that finally happens about the time they reach the age of emancipation
are children accorded the same rights as adults, especially when concerned with the person acting as their guardian?
I was unaware my question dealt with age of majority.
What?
well, we are discussing children. Unless you are unaware children are viewed differently than adults, especially within interactions with their guardian (which the school acts as while the child is under their care, I am unsure how you would come to the conclusion that age was irrelevant.
I asked if they are human beings. They are and this is not changed due to how the law views them.
Regardless, while there needs to be a great deal more effort in clearly defining the limitations of parents can have on their children it is accepted that they do have body sovereignty outside of maintenance and they have some level of right to privacy outside of what is called for to maintain their safety. Usually speaking at the age of the kid in question the parents would permit their child a great deal of privacy which is far more than what the school is doing here. If the law is to reflect ability than treating all young people like toddlers is insufficient and an inaccurate look at why you treat children as needing the supervision and care of their parents.
he's pointing out that the law, for good reason, views children differently than adults.
