Minors do not have the same rights nor the same responsibilities as do adults. Minors are supposed to be supervised by adults, whether they are at school or not. When they are at school, it is the responsibility of the school personnel to know where they are. When they are not at school, it becomes the parents' responsibility.

I agree but RFID tags are not required to do this. The suspended student in the OP is in high school, not exactly a helpless individual. Treating adolescents like they are capable is how you make intelligent adults. Don't kid yourself, RFID is a way to remove a young person's autonomy.

And as is being argued in the OP article, there is a profit motive on the school's part to use this technology, so it's not even about safety so much as it's about greed.

    You are a private citizen.

I wish to know your whereabouts at all times.

Do you have any objections? Why, or why not?

they aren't required, just another new tool. Are surveillance cameras a violation of rights, too?

If they followed me around? I'd say likely.

They don't have to follow you around. They're everywhere.

My side of the aisle? Maybe you should speak to me like an individual and not make stupid stereotypes. Nobody is discussing gun rights here, but there is a whole forum for that you can visit.
