Bobby Jindal: GOP Should 'Stop Being The Stupid Party'

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal hurled harsh criticism at his own party after the GOP was blindsided in the 2012 elections, telling Republicans to end "dumbed-down conservatism" by putting a stop to "offensive, bizarre" comments.
“It is no secret we had a number of Republicans damage our brand this year with offensive, bizarre comments -- enough of that,” Jindal told Politico. “It’s not going to be the last time anyone says something stupid within our party, but it can’t be tolerated within our party. We’ve also had enough of this dumbed-down conservatism. We need to stop being simplistic, we need to trust the intelligence of the American people and we need to stop insulting the intelligence of the voters.”
Jindal told Politico Republicans should “stop being the stupid party” by working to embrace a larger group of constituents rather than becoming the party of "big anything."
The GOP governor criticized the idea that the GOP is "the party that simply protects the rich." Jindal even took a jab at Mitt Romney's now-infamous "47 percent" remarks, noting Republicans would have to be more inclusive going forward.

Wow, there is hope for the GOP. Let's hope they heed his advice.
“No men are anywhere, and I’m allowed to go in, because I’m the owner of the pageant and therefore I’m inspecting it,” Trump said... “‘Is everyone OK’? You know, they’re standing there with no clothes. ‘Is everybody OK?’ And you see these incredible looking women, and so I sort of get away with things like that.”

Some people mentioned his name for this year. I wonder if he's got an eye on 2016?

If he does will we get birthers wanting to see his birth certificate?

If memory serves me right his parents hadnt long got off the plane before he was born.

I've always liked the guy. I voted for him in the last election to be governor. I don't agree with him on every issue, but he does a good job and doesn't put up with partisan bickering. I like that.

Rep. Joe Atkins from Missouri disagrees with Governor Jindal. Atkins says that you can say anything you want because if you don't mean what you say then your words cannot harm anyone. <insert fap icon here>

The GOP knows what not to do, or at least should, but that is not the same thing as what to do. How do you sell cutting 40% of federal spending and/or raising taxes to balance the federal budget, more to actually pay down the national debt which now costs $200 billion per year simply to pay the interest on it?

He is correct ... greater than 90% of the Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and other professionals i work with ( over 300+) not only support ACA ...they view the GOP as the dumbed down Fox News tabloid infotainment bumper sticker party.

Be clear ... I know there are many intelligent and progressive republicans that comprehend science and know that unified bodies for military and healthcare are not socialism and that regulations in industries such as banking and Wall Street are correct and right.

I actually think most Americans are centrists with minor differences. I know I will receive flack on this statement and I have no back up or statistically significant study to back this up ... it imho.

Intelligent thinking Americans know the Democrats are not socialists and know the Republicans are not all Rush Limbaughs ...! They just have different viewpoints on resolving some issues and hopefully all want the best decisions to grow out beautiful Democratic Republic the United States of America!

I think both parties should join together for finance reform and to mitigate Citizens United v. FEC. Both are the antithesis of a democracy and voices for We the People!
