“It is no secret we had a number of Republicans damage our brand this year with offensive, bizarre comments -- enough of that,” Jindal told Politico. “It’s not going to be the last time anyone says something stupid within our party, but it can’t be tolerated within our party. We’ve also had enough of this dumbed-down conservatism. We need to stop being simplistic, we need to trust the intelligence of the American people and we need to stop insulting the intelligence of the voters.”
Jindal told Politico Republicans should “stop being the stupid party” by working to embrace a larger group of constituents rather than becoming the party of "big anything."
The GOP governor criticized the idea that the GOP is "the party that simply protects the rich." Jindal even took a jab at Mitt Romney's now-infamous "47 percent" remarks, noting Republicans would have to be more inclusive going forward.

He is correct ... greater than 90% of the Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and other professionals i work with ( over 300+) not only support ACA ...they view the GOP as the dumbed down Fox News tabloid infotainment bumper sticker party.

Be clear ... I know there are many intelligent and progressive republicans that comprehend science and know that unified bodies for military and healthcare are not socialism and that regulations in industries such as banking and Wall Street are correct and right. Most intelligent people regardless of politics care about our environment and regulations to mitigate companies from polluting out soil, air and water.

I actually think most Americans are centrists with minor differences. I know I will receive flack on this statement and I have no back up or statistically significant study to back this up ... it imho.

Intelligent thinking Americans know the Democrats are not socialists and know the Republicans are not all Rush Limbaughs ...! They just have different viewpoints on resolving some issues and hopefully all want the best decisions to grow out beautiful Democratic Republic the United States of America!

I think both parties should join together for finance reform and to mitigate Citizens United v. FEC. Both are the antithesis of a democracy and voices for We the People!

Sounds like what a lot of us were saying after the election. Enough is enough. Maybe republicans had it easy so far and had the luxury of being able to be absurd, and still win periodic elections. Maybe that threshold has been reached. I can only hope like Bobby, that the Republican party sheds the stupid.

He would have a really tough time I think being from Louisiana. Even if he is not on the take, odds are there are plenty of suspect deals by people associated with him in one way or the other that would get him swift-boated by association, so to speak. "Well Bobby Jendel took money from X who then made millions on a contract to collect Coke bottles from the bayou that never got cleaned up". It would be so hard to get a Presidential candidate from either party out of Louisiana who wouldn't be buried in those kinds of stories IMHO.

Its not the comments the moronic members of the party make its the reporting on them. Case in point the reporting of obama's "you didn't build that" was 1/4th that of Romney's 47% hidden video. Our media made a lot of hey over "legitimate rape" and paid scant attention to the riot that didn't kill 4 people in Benghazi in the last weeks of the election.

This isn't about the idiot statements - its about how they are reported by the leftists in charge of the lame stream media.

Probably not, highlighting my continual contention that the "Birthers" are not primarily motivated by "racism" but by pure partisanship

Politics is perception. Real issues don't matter if you go around saying things that make people think you're a heartless asshole.

I get it your in favor of more regulation not less, and more freebies not less. Typical liberal view point, and you have to wonder why the national debt is climbing by over 1 trillion a year.

Bobby Jindal is one of the few republicans who wouldn't give me the heebiejeebies if he became president. He strikes me as extremely sharp, and quite reasonable overall.

Jindal, it would seem, understands this.

If you think half of the populace are lazy victims, and say so, people don't want to vote for it.

If you think there's such a thing as "legitimate" rape, and say so, people don't want to vote for it.

Jindal understands that at the end of the day, the TP are NOT the "real" Republicans.
