NO To ObamaCare Says Florida Governor Rick Scott.....

Florida Republican Gov. Rick Scott says he will not implement the state health insurance exchanges mandated in the 2010 federal health care law despite President Barack Obama's re-election.

    The Sarasota Herald-Tribune reports:

Speaking on the New College of Florida campus following a meeting of the state's university governing board, Scott said it will cost taxpayers and business owners too much to expand Medicaid and set up health insurance exchanges as called for under the law.

"No one has been able to show me that that health care exchange is going to do anything rather than raise taxes, raise the cost of our companies to do business," Scott said, adding that expanding Medicaid would also require tax increases.
Scott is one of many Republican governors who have resisted the state programs required by the law before Election Day, but he's the first to voice continued resistance after the election.....snip~

Looks like 28 other Republican Governors need to step up and do what they said too.

I get that people don't like it, or at least don't like parts of it, but its time to move on and accept that its the law now. No one wants to keep fighting the same battles over and over and beating the same dead horse over and over again.

Expect to hear alot of criticism from the Dems regarding your comments.

Since blasting ObamaCare is a winning political issue, Republicans need to keep blasting away.

Why accept being forced to buy healthcare or accept government involvement in healthcare? Why should people just accept it and move on? I don't see it, sorry. It would appear to me you fight for what you believe in and never stop for anyone. I never saw anyone win by just rolling over, have you?

that not a very good argument...

had folks done what you are suggesting, slavery would still be legal and alcohol would still be illegal ( just 2 extreme examples)

nah, states need to fight for the best interests of their state, whatever that may be.
If obamacare is determined to be bad for a state, i think they need to fight against it... if a state determines it's good, they can feel free to remain silent and implement it.

the whole " our federal lords have spoken, and that's that" is a really really bad argument.

It is never right to accept anything just because it is a law. That is a horrible analysis of the situation. I would recommend that you go back and read some history of our nation and decide if you would had rather some of those people just accepted things because they were law. Try starting with the men and women who tried to get out from under the British rule.

If the federal law required everyone buying a handgun and setting up state handgun training centers would you still feel the same way? After all, that law would probably decrease crime a lot, making each citizen be ever more responsible for their own health and safety.

^^^^^ this was all acceptable until the part about remaining silent came in. Moreover several Governors got out on TV and said they wouldn't implement it. Not to mention the Physicians and Surgeons have their Issue in the Court now over the Constitutionality of the 15 Man Panel. Which the Law clearly states that Congress is to Enact any legislations and make laws. Although word is Obama has caved on this part of it so it won't have to run the full course of the Court.

Sometimes its time to stop fighting and move on, this isn't slavery, this isn't British rule, this isn't prohibition. What exactly do the Republicans intend to do by fighting it at this point? They don't control the government and can't repeal it, the SCOTUS has said its perfectly legal, the only thing they have left to do is try to make it fail rather than trying to make it succeed.

Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, its a fact of life and if people didn't stop fighting after its become clear they've lost then nothing would ever get done as we'd be arguing the same issues till the end of time. What if both the Dems and Republicans had the same "never quit fighting" attitude? Are we just going to go in a cycle of repealing and reimplementing Obamacare as Dems and Reps switch control of the government?

my point was that a state is within their rights to NOT fight against Obamacare, if that is what they choose....
