State Dept: Hillary to Step Down Despite Obama Win.....

She was an excellent Secretary of State, and she'd be an excellent president. If she chooses to run and I've still got enough life in me to check an absentee ballot, I'd vote for her in a heartbeat.

What did she do as Secretary that caused you to have this high opinion of her?

MMC;1061122315Vice President Joe Biden’s name is also being bandied about for a presidential run in 2016.....snip~

And a good time will be had by all!

I have the same question as the one from AliHajiSheik.

It's common for a SECSTATE to step down after one term. As far as the high offices go, it is a pretty hectic and tiring lifestyle. It is CONSTANT travel and participating in endless, yet important, meetings with foreign dignitaries while being jet lagged.

Of all the cabinet level positions, and perhaps even including the Presidency, it is probably the most stressful and emotionally draining. I can’t blame anyone for only wanting one term of that.

I can certainly say that the morale of those in the Foreign Service have improved greatly under her leadership. She has visited more countries than any other Secretary of State in history. And as someone who has played a part in three of those visits I can say they aren’t vacation trips. From the minute she lands to the minute she takes off she is all business. She has carried out her expected duties better than most in that position.

The jury is still out on the Benghazi incident. If it turns out she personally denied the request for additional security that will certainly taint her record.

But she also hasn’t had any great accomplishments. SECSTATES rarely do. They mostly fly around and try and keep little fires from turning into huge ones. She has done a good job at that.

I think she would make a decent President and a very good Supreme Court Justice.

She'll be 69 by then so I doubt she'll run. Biden will look like the Cryptkeeper by then so again doubt he will run also.

Compared to Hillary, Christie is a lightweight....

*LOL* send that post to Christie .. he will love you .. .don't think he has "ever" been called a lightweight.

Neither of them would stand up to Christie at the general.

I doubt Either of them and Christie could stand up to Mitch Daniels. Christie is a Putz, you can thank him for helping Obama to look like he was actually doing something for a change. Causing Romney another 1% of the Popular vote.

Tell Christie to move to the back of the Bus.....Rubio is already Starting. He goes to Iowa Next Week to begin to set things up.

Hillary will step down because the Benghazi facts will come out and the evil ***** is in it up to her eyeballs along with obama.

Either way.....she is still going to take a hit on it. Despite Panetta and Ham falling on their Swords, since she did first.

True dat. And if she runs for POTUS in 2016, this will come back and bite her in the ass. And I hope whoever the GOP nominee is, he/she (assuming it would be Condi Rice) should milk it for all it's worth.

Whoever the RNP nominee is going to be.....should do all they can to talk Condi in taking the VP Spot. I think if Romney would have picked her as his VP instead of Ryan. We would be looking at a different result with this Election. By herself she would have made up that 15% difference in the Republican Vote.

I don't think tying oneself that closely to the Bush administration would be wise. Particularly someone who played such an integral part in getting us into the sham Iraq War.

Are you saying you'd even vote for that clown, if he didn't look like that?

Trust me for Condi it will be different. Moreover the Right having a Black Woman as a VP.....will definitely put that Slap Right Across those Democrats Faces, plus give them one to remember for the rest of their entire Shady history. One that won't be forgotten!

How would it be different? Do you think blacks would vote Republican because there was a black on the ticket? Unless they change their policies the vast majority of blacks are not going to vote Republican. And there are plenty of conservatives and independents who want nothing to do with the Bush legacy.

It is moot anyway. Condi is brilliant. Too brilliant to ever run for public office to be frank.

Yep.....Young Single black Women and even Married black women. As well as Independants that are fiscally conservative and socially moderate. The more it takes away from the Democrats and those Progressives the better off the Republican Party will be. Plus she will pull women from the Hispanics. Theres no getting around it.....she will definitely affect the Electorate!

Hopefully she can be influenced to do what is Best for the Country.

Having her home all the time could be pretty stressful for Bubba. It will cramp his style.

She doesn't have the background.

Neither did Obama, and he proved it during his first term. Unfortunately, competence is apparently no longer a prerequisite for high office.

I have the same question as the one from AliHajiSheik.

I have been a fan of Hillary's for many years. She is brilliant, articulate, accomplished and has brought a breath of fresh air and excitement to the state department, working tirelessly to circle the globe in the performance of her duties. However, I learned years ago not to bother getting into a pissing match with those who do not, for whatever reason, like Hillary. No matter what I say I like about her, someone will shoot back something to the effect of "Oh, so it doesn't bother you to have a murderer representing our country around the world... it's not like Vince Foster really mattered"... or something equally inflammatory.

Therefore I simply say that I like and respect the woman, and would be thrilled to see her in the oval office... and I'll leave it at that.

I don't know about her loving the limelight, but her naked ambition has always been clear. "Eight years for Bill; eight years for Hill" has always been the plan.

Did you sit in on the planning meetings? Wow - tell us more.

Is that anything like the 8 years for Bush I, 8 years for Bush II, and 8 years for Jeb?

I remember when JFK was in office and the pundit line was "We'll have Jack for 8 years, then Bobby for 8 years, then Teddy for 8 years, and then it will be 1984."
