I hadn't seen it. If it didn't happen, if pros with equipment (outsiders) are being allowed to get power back on as an emergency, that's a good.

BUT do you now claim that they should NOT be allowing those outside non-union crews to be working?

Unfortunately, your article is lacking, so I wouldn't know since it is never clearly stated in the article. The only thing I see in the article is some assumptions being made, especially by the way it is worded in that paragraph that I quoted.

I think government should take all the "freebies" it can get.

If you had any common sense you'd know why they were told to "stand down".

Not at all, I am simply saying that the article is incomplete. It NEVER states that unions are the reason why those out-of-state workers were sent away. It assumes that it is why though. If they NEED outside crews, then I am SURE they wouldn't be turning them away. If they are doing that, the blame again would fall on the State of New Jersey. It is up to the state to make sure their residents are taken care of during emergency situations. If they signed a bad contract, that is on them.

Common sense would tell you that it could be any number of reasons why, and that this article is not the be all/end all you seem to think it is.

Because when I read this part:

The general manager of the other department mentioned, Decatur Utilities, has since verified claims that his workers were asked to affiliate with a union.
I realized that it further substantiated the original claim...what is the point? That Huntsville Utilities was not turned away? That was stated in the original article...

If you go back the original OP article and click on the link, you will see this update. That is the extent of the update. The rest of the article is the "not updated" version.

UPDATE: Jersey Central Power & Light spokesman Ron Morano told Cablevision’s News12 on Friday that his company has accepted help from all crews. “We have not turned away any help,” he said. “Absolutely not.”

Actually that is what the OP did.

Okay. Looks like it was because of the fog.
