New Robin Hood Tax Introduced In Congress

They have specific powers and one of those powers is to tax.

So do you believe the words powers and rights are interchangeable? I think you will find that is anything but the case.

I would also like to know where exactly they can tax towards those ends.

It depends on how using the word "right". But do we really wanna get held up on word games here?

Would follow under the tax and spending clause. Most likely under the regulatory taxation power congress has.

Bad idea.

Profit is not guaranteed. It is profits that should be taxed, not transactions.

No, it doesn't depend on the use of the word "right". Government does not practice rights and it matters not at which angle you wish to approach the subject of rights. As for the subject of word games, no, this is not a word game. The word powers and the word rights implies entirely different ideas.

Please help me understand how, thanks.

I think they were referring to paying off the debt. But republicans are known to be big spenders, giving away our money so the rich can get more tax breaks. And the government DOES need to create more jobs so more people have good incomes to buy in the service industry who can then hire more people.

uh you obviously think that the government owns all wealth if you claim that tax cuts GIVE the people who pay most of the taxes money

Just something I have noticed..

Robin Hood helped peasants(backwards but still) that were at the service of the king or vassal that owned everything be it their gold and or the place they laid their heads at night. If you ever notice how people like Muddy treat property, be it taxes or anything else, it always at the behest of the government as if the government owns all of it. I wonder why then they would hold up Robin Hood for helping peasants when they themselves want everyone to be peasants. I really don't think they realize what they are doing, but still, it's interesting.
