Hackers claim to identify second individual ‘involved’ with Amanda Todd cyber stalking

Nameless hackers with the online protest group “Anonymous” said Tuesday night that they’ve identified another individual connected to a pornographic photo of a 15-year-old Canadian teen who committed suicide after publishing an anti-bullying video that went viral.

As everyone should know by now, the guy's actions are far removed from Amanda Todd's decision to kill herself, and should not be held to any degree of responsibility in her own actions. Especially criminally.

But this is not about that aspect, it is about the hackers.

They ought to be ashamed of trying to place responsibility on anybody other than Amanda Todd for her killing herself, and then singling him out.
Truly pathetic of them.

They got the first identification wrong as reported above, what makes anyone think they got this one right?
I would feel mighty stupid had I believed them the first time.

Extortion, threats, and distribution of child pornography are all crimes the asshole is likely guilty of. Not going after him at all would be no better than going after him for the girl's death.

I agree with most of this; I don't support vigilante justice. But the bolded part makes me go WTF? Why *shouldn't* the bullies feel responsible for her killing herself? It is their fault, and hopefully the people who did this feel terrible.

Secondly, it is law enforcements duty, not some group of vigilante law breakers.

No, it is not their fault. She got her feeling hurt and was unable to cope with it. That is all on her.

But I have no problem if they feel sorry or remorseful for their action which were wrong.

How would you know what I feel for Amanda Todd since I have never said anything about my feelings.

The more I look at the above pic, the more I am convinced that it wasn't "real" cutting on her part, but just merely scratching the surface.
Which just lends more credibility to her being an attention whore and unstable.

I heard a CBC broadcast about this. Apparently this isn't an instance of hacking or cyber bullying; it's something called capping.

Screen capping is where criminals use the net to coerce young girls in to stripping, subsequently taking screen captures of them doing so. The resulting images are used to blackmail these young girls. According to the broadcast, this is an autonomous culture(much like autonomous, ALF, or ELF) that's "hiding in plain sight".

I prompt you to go on youtube and look up "the daily capper". It's a kids show dubbed over and turned in to a news broadcast about capping - I checked, there's still some of them uploaded. I've never actually seen the show, but it basically outlines the activities cappers engage in.

I have seen two since you brought it up. Nothing that would get anyone in trouble. And not at all interesting.

I would suggest you watch some if you are not familiar with them. That is if you are trying to use them as some sort of point. If you are not, that's ok.
