BECAUSE SOME WANT MORE TAXES to punish people who are more successful than they are rather than to rationally fund the goverment. 27ina's posts constantly demonstrate a desire to afflict those who are more industrious and prosperous then he is.

That is a REAL plan for USA.

We have had enough of gov used to soak the poor and print money for the Rich via the MIC.
You implement something like that and how long would you expect to exist after doing so?

Ask the people in 1944 that had 94% taxes.......the rich did not leave, every one was fine........

    Then look at 50's 60 's 70's......all high taxes......

If you actually did some research you would find that such confiscatory rates only applied to a very small group rather than several million that you want to loot. and the loopholes and deductions were far higher.

Your posts are obviously based on some sort of irrational hatred of people who do better than you do-sound economic reasoning has no relationship to your silly rants

Taxing the rich at 80% would be like dropping a bomb over several US cities yet everyone survives while the infrastructure is destroyed, then when it comes time to rebuild only union jobs are available - and only a limited amount based on race, religion, sexuality and sex.

You tell me turtle, what's rational..funding the government via people who can afford it vs funding it the government via people who can't
    It's that simple Scrooge

I say fund a MUCH smaller government with everyone (except the poor) paying the exact same tax rate no matter how much you make (income or capital gains).

Plus, when are people going to realize that the truly rich do not care much about income tax rates...they care about capital gains rates?

    Margaret Thatcher explained it best:

"Socialist governments traditionally do make a financial mess. They always run out of other people's money."
"We have to get past the awful legacy of the last 8 years." Bill Clinton, 3/21/2016, in Spokane, WA while on the campaign trail for Hillary.

    Agreed...

Tax everyone who makes 50k+ a year at the same rate (capital gains or general income)...
