Gun microstamping could close American factories

Thank you for your responses. I suppose the USG would like to disarm any resistance to their corruption. The OP was about a State idiot lawmaker and it seems that the States are the problem, not the Feds. Even then, I can't absorb how stupid these attempts are - definitely not LOGICAL.

The ultimate goal is the removal of ALL civilian firearm ownership. By removing the idea of a legal gun owner, it makes it much easier for the police to simply arrest anyone with a gun and thereby get that firearm off the street, until eventually (in their mind anyway) there are no nore guns in private hands at all.

An unarmed population is a benefit to governments in general. It means the government can get away with anything and the population will be unable to physically oppose them.

Armed criminals only make up a small minority of the population.

You don't think state and local politicians would want an unarmed population too? Local level politicians have more to fear from an armed population than federal level politicians.

For anyone who thinks microstamping is a good idea, here's why it isn't...

There are already around 300 million guns in existence that do not have microstamping technology, so the impact of new weapons with it would be trivial. Also, most guns used in crimes are not used by their original owner... they are stolen or have been resold so many times you could not trace them.

It suppose to make someone feel good, not actually accomplish anything.
