They were in the street, which is almost as bad. Especially since most kids pay no attention to the traffic until they're on the hood of someone's car.
Letting your kids wander the neighborhood like gypsies is a good way for them to end up disappearing PERMANENTLY. Respect for others only occurs when they have respect for me to begin with. Being on my property without my permission is not being respectful.

There is more to this story than has been told. There are some mothers that let their children do anything. There are some people who shown no respect for law enforcement.

IF she saw a 38 year old man "dragging" one of our children - or any child - the first that person who know she saw this would be with a laser sight on his chest and her SCREAMING "LET GO OF THAT CHILD AND MOVE BACK OR I WILL KILL YOU!" She is well rehearsed, literally, in situational training with officers in civilian dress, to do exactly that in a threat situation. She also is trained to have instinct reaction of actually firing by actually doing so using rounds with paintballs. 3 shots - chest-head-chest faster than the person could hit the ground. She is extraordinarily skilled.

The last time I saw someone physically abusing a little child - now 8 years ago - under the store's video camera I broke both windows of a C-store beer cooler with his face and spent nearly 2 weeks in jail while they waited to see if he technically remained alive. He did, they let me go, and told me they wish they could do such as that to child abusers, but as officers they can't. I have a couple very deep "phobias" and one is men who hurt children. The other is men who poise a threat to me.

Child on a person's yard hurts nothing - unless they are damaging the yard - so don't live in a neighborhood with children or DO fence your yard if seeing children outside is intolerable. We often have more children in our yard than we can count, though we live in a remote location with only the river and woodland swamp next door.

There is a fundamental difference between someone who sees children playing outside and smiles thinking "oh how sweet" offering them cookies and someone who frowns and mumbles "damn little brats!" calling the police. My lady is the former. You seem the latter.
What was the guy doing, if you don't mind me asking? Was it just a spanking or was he actually beating up/strangling the kid? If it were the former that would be excessive, if it were the latter, no problem.

It depends. It's not you're job to babysit someone else' kids. If they were just playing and Suzie just happened to fall over no reasonable person would sue you over that. If you had a hyena in the yard with no leash and it mauled Suzie that's a different story.

    Do you have any children?

35 years ago mine ran the streets of the subdivion until dark.. riding their bikes, fishing in the nearby clay pits, rollerskating and testing themselves against the world.

Its more dangerous now.. Many children cannot play in their front yard without parental supervision.

This mother was sitting in the yard while her kids rode their bikes.. Do you get it?

Most likely its a subdivision. In what subdivision in the entire United States do kids not ride their scooters in the streets?

Is it absurd to take one side of a story and form an opinion. If you had said, if this incident occurred as the person arrested claims, then it is absurd. Absent that, deciding it's absurd is, well, absurd.

Do you have reason to believe there is more to the story? Legitimate reason, I mean, not just faux posturing.
If you claim sexual harassment to be wrong, yet you defend anyone on your side for any reason,
then you are a hypocrite and everything you say on the matter is just babble.

You mean other than the fact, and it is a fact, that the story is incredible. It's amazing what people will believe because they want to. Do you actually believe that children were playing outside, their mothers was sitting there watching them, a neighbor called the police, and the police hauled the mother off for nothing but sitting there watching her children play and held her in jail all night? And the kids?

Get real. I will suspend judgement until the whole story is told but on the surface, her story is not believable. I'm not sure what you mean by faux posturing. I suppose you're trying to sound educated rather than gullible.

If the kids can't be on anyone's property, and they can't be in the street, should they learn how to levitate?
