Ohioans confused about bin Ladenís death

I just have to ask... how is it possible that these people got it so wrong? It's mind-boggling. What has Mitt done to even deserve an iota of credit?

Some Republicans think Romney is "more responsible" for the death of Osama bin Laden

What does Mitt Romney have to do with killing Osama bin Laden? According to a notable percentage of Ohio Republicans, way more than that good-for-nothing Barack Obama.
According to a PPP poll of likely Ohio voters, 15 percent of Republicans in Ohio think Romney is “more responsible” for bin Laden’s death than Obama, while 47 percent of Republicans are “not sure” whether Obama or Romney deserves more of the credit.
Six percent of the overall respondents gave Romney credit where credit is not at all due. Thirty-one percent of them weren’t sure whether the president or the candidate deserves more credit.

This honestly isn't surprising, as sad as that is.

Obviously Romney secretly moonlights as a DEVGRU Navy SEAL - and now the secret is out
Nobody who wins a war indulges in a bifurcated definition of victory. War is a political act; victory and defeat have meaning only in political terms. A country incapable of achieving its political objectives at an acceptable cost is losing the war, regardless of battlefield events.

Bifurcating victory (e.g. winning militarily, losing politically) is a useful salve for defeated armies. The "stab in the back" narrative helped take the sting out of failure for German generals after WWI and their American counterparts after Vietnam.

All the same, it's nonsense. To paraphrase Vince Lombardi, show me a political loser, and I'll show you a loser.

I'm trying to think of an example of what someone could think the poll was asking (making the result a misunderstanding of the question), but I haven't been able to think of one.

Don't people know? Mitt went on a missionary to Afghanistan and helped beat to death Bin Laden!

Not much, if anything at all.

I suppose that would be my answer if you asked me what Pres. Obama has done too.

I think there is clearly a lot of partisan foolishness on all sides of the aisle but I don't get too worked up on something that was designed by a liberal group to make Republicans look bad. I even wonder how selective PPP was in looking for people. This story is kind of the equivalent of Peter Schiff's video at the Democrat Convention.

75% of them probably want to end women's suffrage.

Re: Ohioans confused about bin Ladenís death

    I'll try.

If I asked you if Obama deserved the credit, you might respond unsure BECAUSE you think the alternative answer might be the Navy SEALS who actually took guns and attacked the compound. So, "unsure" is, well, kind of an "unsure" question especially if you're trying to rig the responses.

Now, asking of Mitt Romney deserves any credit for the Bin Laden execution, yes, only a moron would say yes to that. So, all we learn is that 15% of these interviewees were morons. I recently saw the reverse of this where dumb democrats were responding that Corporations shouldn't be allowed to make a profit. That's equally ridiculous.

So, this is just a silly game where you try and trick the dumbest, least informed people into showing their ignorance. Other than the humor value, I doubt there is anything to learn from this, OTHER than some people are DUMB. Hell, I could have told you that if you had only asked.

    Hope this (free) analysis helps.

    The question apparently was

Who do you think deserves more credit for the killing of Osama bin Laden: Barack Obama or Mitt Romney?
I guess you could have not listened to the whole question and decided that Romney deserves more credit for everything. I suspect it's more like 6% of Ohioans are both rabidly partisan and stupid. It's not all that many to be honest.

It just proves how many people in Ohio and elsewhere care nothing about politics or what is happening in their country.
